Wormholes were first introduced to the public over a century ago in a book written by an Oxford mathematician. Perhaps realizing that adults might frown on the idea of multiply connected spaces, he wrote the book under a pseudonym and wrote it for children. His name was Charles Dodgson, his pseudonym was Lewis Carroll, and the book was Through The Looking Glass. ***8212; Michio Kaku

You guys rock .... so much subtile improvements ... one click merge with keeping all my subdiv levels is absolutely brilliant. I could not merge and reconstruct subdivs on one model ... now it's no problem anymore ... Thank you so much!

I feel your pain. I actually gave Pixo a call and they were helpful, but they basically told me that my name wasn't on the auto-update list and that its got to be manually done, and the girl that does that is totally swamped.

I felt like such a jerk calling because we all know how busy they are, but everyone was getting responses to their tickets and I wasn't. Thanks go out to whoever I spoke to on the phone, I could tell he really was not excited to hear from me but was very helpful! I'll sit here patiently now.

So, if it's done manually it can be anytime this month, there could be thousands of emails that this poor girl must type.

Now there's an updated 3.5 release 2? That was quick.

Default ZBrush 3.5R2 for Windows on OS X via Darwine

    @phatene:

    zb35ondarwine.jpg

I got it to run with Darwine and web activation.

I ran into a problem where when launching ZBrush complained about not being able to open files at "Z:\APPLICATIONS\DARWINE\WINEHELPER.APP\CONTENT\RES OURCES/ZResources\Images/"

Turns out you have to run wine from the directory in which you "installed" the ZBrush executable. So in terminal you have to cd to that directory and then run wine from Darwine's Wine.bundle. So once you're in the directory run "/Applications/Darwine/Wine.bundle/Contents/bin/wine ZBrush.exe"

To do web activation you have to grab the activation request code from an email activation request and then build the appropriate URL and plug that in your browser.

Also, I ran into a problem with ZBrush not being able to write to a Tempfiles directory under ZStartup even though everything had read and write permissions so I just created the directory and it seemed to be okay.

Just messed around with it so far, but after a slow startup it seems pretty peppy. The only issues I've run into so far are:
    • Lightbox doesn't work
    • Command key functions as Alt key. I didn't see a way to change this.
    • Resizing the window screws keyboard input.
    • All my memory doesn't seem to be recognized.

Obviously not the preferred way to go about it but if you have a Windows license and Mac and can't wait for the Mac version, it can be done.

This is only if you PAID for a permanent Windows license, not if you received a temporary Windows license while waiting for ZBrush 3 for the Mac.

Is it correct that none of the plug-ins work with 3.5? Like Zapplink and Decimation Master etc?
