Default Fun to watch this thread

I am glad to see so many people are excited about the new release. I certainly am. I agree whole-heartedly with Houdini's comments. I feel very much the same as Houdini. I can't thank the Pixologic team enough for the true generosity they have displayed over the many years I have enjoyed using Zbrush. It is great software and great fun to use, and I can't possibly imagine myself creating anything close to what a lot of individuals are creating with this software.

Everyone keeps talking about their dreams of using the software, the incredible functionality of ZspheresII....etc. Well, here is my nightmare......Pixologic proudly announces the release of ZBrush (Add in your own version number here), the upgrade price for current users That is when I wake up screaming and breaking into a cold sweat.

So, a prediction of a release date. Personally, I hope it's not until Friday 11 Sept 2009. I like my sleep and wouldn't get much if they release earlier rather than wait for the weekend.

Looking forward to the upgrade and the new toys. Thank you Pixologic team, you guys rock!!

I just can't take this anymore!

ok - this doesn't help me with "the big wait", but perhaps it will comfort some of you guys:

we all know pixo don't release updates every month, like 1.3, 1.31, 1.31b, 1.33, 1.34, etc (heck, the mac users waited months to get their patch)

so let them take their time polishing 3.5 because after that is released, it's gonna be another heck of a long time before Z4 comes out.

would you rather wait another 2 weeks for them to polish ZB3.5 perfectly, and use it for the next 8 months...or would you want them to release it NOW, and work with a buggy version for the next 8 months?

    did that comfort anyone?

What gets me is that 1/2 of the people who are b****ing here probably won't do much w/3.5 anyway. I'm not saying that they might not be talented, but clearly art is not a major priority to them if they're posting here incessantly instead of... y'know.... making art.

I'm as anxious as the next guy, but you know what they say about watched pots. ZB 3.5 will get here eventually, guys. In the meantime, make something cool.

I'm just lurking here, but yea, it looks like the only persons bitchin and moanin are the ones that use Zbrush for hobby.

Professionals are not wasting their time posting "pleaze/prettypleaze/Pixosucksbecause they are late on the release".. Probably they are busy at work, or simply they are a bit more in contact with reality.

Well that sinks it.. I'll be waiting for all you guys to do my beta testing before I break out the update. Ok maybe just maybe I'll install it on a different machine

I wonder if we'll ever know what the "last minute holdup" was? At least they didn't give a date for this one. They are learning to not set the expectation. Here's hoping version 4 shows up on the doorstep unannounced like some kid you never knew you had (in the far off future)

From my experience doing closed beta testing. (not zbrush) Many beta testers used the software as is unless there was some feature that was horribly broken. Beta testers who aren't being paid to test the software, just take advantage of using the latest and greatest software and find there own little workarounds for the glitches and bugs. Most unpaid beta testers are reluctant to point out little glitches or bugs.

But, when a release date is set. The bug reports come in like an avalanche. The beta testers become afraid that the software is actually going to be released in a somewhat broken state.

I know a lot of people are going to want to throw pixologic under the bus for failing to make the release date. But from my experience I'm really leaning towards blaming the beta testers. But it is possible that, something just came up at the last moment....
