Update!
Sculpted a little more
-
Wow... Novi... haven't been to that con in years... good times....
Looks like you have a pretty decent topology going on there. I'd actually have to see it after a little more sculpting to start trying to give much input, but it looks like a good start to me. All I can say for myself is that at this stage I would be paying a LOT of attention to the shapes of the major muscle masses; maybe consider going to a lower sub level and relaxing things back a bit with the smooth brush to that you can then build up your masses whereas at the moment you might end up trying to carve/cut the recesses rather than build up which I find much harder. I prefer to try to think like clay or sculpy and start small, building out the forms bit by bit. Cutting and carving techniques, for me anyway, tend to be mostly reserved for late in the game, adding in small details. Just my $.02 on how I would go on from here. Also, if you're trying to build up something close to the actual toy's shape, keep in mind not only "good" anatomy but also the stylized nature of the anatomy on a lot of McFarlane based work. That's not a put down of the anatomy in the work itself, but it is definitely stylized, and often times that's a big element of what makes that stuff look so cool. -Les
