    Thanks a lot guys!!

I'm glad you liked the folds Geert! I want to make them a bit crisper, but that'll wait till after the retopology.. thanks!

Ok, small update, the hair is overall with the silhouette I wanted, but it's too messy right now. After retopo it'll get a makeover...

Little to go still, then retopo, posing, polypaint... yep the road is long

    THanks for looking!
    Cheers!

Ok, here come the last updates before retopo. This is as far as I'm gonna go now, since the elements missing are all appendices and can be added after the retopo.

I'm pretty happy with the result so far, and got some fixes in mind for after, as well as massive detailing. Can't wait!!

I'm going to try out Topogun for this, anyone uses it? It looks pretty sweet, and if I like to use it may be part of my toolset.

    Ok, images:

Thanks a lot man!! Glad you like it.

Right now I'm testing around with different topologies, for study purposes really, I'll post something soon!

    cheers,

Wow, Ville, I may perhaps belong to that mass of fans uncreative but if I had the same sculpting level as you, I would be very little concerned about the low post responses
    That Solid snake is amazing!

Hey looking good! I like the colors and there's some nice touches throughout the model. As a small crit, I would suggest looking at slightly widening the back a bit and tone down the zygomatic bone on his face...unless that's a style thing, forget I said anything.

thats awesome man. i love metal gear and esp snake. though the sculpt is freakin sweet, im not so crazy about the face. i like how u went with a slightly sleeker look for his body but i think the face could use some love. then again, maybe im just tied too heavily to his original face! hah! look forward to seeing u complete this though!

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the replies!

I know I haven't updated this in a while, but I'm getting my ass kicked to get this guy posed and having the details projected to the new topology, haha. It's coming, it's coming..

palafoxx: Haha thank's a lot man! Now seriously, to get to the same level as me takes very little time, I guarantee you. Sculpt a couple of things and done .. but thanks a lot!

sandpiper: Thanks a lot for the crits! I shall definitely look into that. The back will be definitely better and the face, I do like it's front view, but the side bothers me still.. I'll mess with the zygomatics, thanks!

sarakawa: Thanks a lot man! I know there are a lot of die-hard MGS fans out there like me and it's great to know that my version is appreciated, though it's not that different from the original. I'll test a few things with the face now that I have the new topology, there are several parts that I don't like myself on it.

    Cheers!

Ok, got this guy posed (though I'm not revealing it just now) and started refining the face... lots to do on that still, but here's a wip shot:

What do you guys think of the eyes? I can't get them looking real, don't know...

    thanks for looking!

hey danny , he is certainly coming along well. stylized works are difficult to critique ; keeping your own style and trying to combine it with conventional ideas of sculpting is certainly a fragile balance. maybe if the eyelids supported the spherical shape of the eye ( or wrapped around it a bit more ) , or perhaps from the side view the bottom eyelid is usually at an angle from the top lid ( such that the top lid looks almost fuller).
eyes are tricky , for me its almost the toughest part of the face to work on . i look at alot of greek sculptures and 2d drawings to see what forms they exaggerate
he has a clint eastwood quality about him with this new iteration; i have always suspected that eastwood was the inspiration for snake , wolverine etc etc but who knows lol
    keep it up dude,
