    Default My First Character

I started this as a model to use to teach my rigging class. Kinda got carried away. I know there are anatomical issues, but I have always been an animator, not a modeler. I thought I would post some of the genesis of this model. I started with zspheres toadMan_zsphere.jpg

Here is the adaptive skin this zsphere generated.

Here I have painted him and added a loincloth. This was more fun than I have ever had modeling and lighting. When I get him into 3ds max, I am going to try an add some hair;-)

I tried some extraction experiments with him. I have a question. Can I add different materials to subtools? Couldn't figure out how to do that.

Anyone have some ideas of how I could make a stone bridge using zspheres?
    Thanks.

I'd make it from a box or a plane but if I was forced to make it from zspheres I'd make a fat line of out of 2 zspheres, branch downwards with new zspheres, activate skin, use move tool to get the shave of a block as much as possible (or use magnets instead at zsphere level to stretch the corners out), subdivide per need (ctrl+d), take the standard brush, turn on lazy mouse (make it smaller size) and draw the hard ridges of the block. Then take the track tool, choose an alpha that reminds of the brick pattern the most, and zadd to your block bridge. Voila
