Was inspired today by Tsvetomir's Raziel sculpt to model one myself, been playing with the render settings in zbrush most of the time...Used the bat creature render for reference, and learned a lot even though it's far from perfect, I'll know for next time ...Thanks Ceco for your continuous contribution to the forum.

    EDIT: some overall ps tweaks

Nice one man! Perhaps a bit of rim light from the back to accentuate the silhouette?

    Nice piece no matter what.

Hey man, it's such an honor to hear from you. Regarding the rim light, you're absolutely right, I'm moderately new to rendering in zbrush, so this is the product of the nerve wrecking with it for two days. In the end I tried faking the specular in ps but didn't work and I wasn't inspired to do go back to zbrush again, so I'll be more patient the next time hopefully

    Cheers

Really like that piece too. I like how there is nothing else but the sky and the creature and the desperate dark emotion it conveys.
    good work cherub.

Honor shmonor... your sketchbook here is way better than my thread. You've got a mountain of impressive work here. I wish I had the kind of time to get a thread like this of my own up and running

As far as Zbrush lighting goes, I wish I could help you.
I have never been able get more out of it than basic renders while deving a model. Vray, octane, maxwell etc or other dedicated external renders are really the way to go for me.. horses for courses .

At any rate, keep the good times rollin, your razael is great and original!

Hey Julian, thanks for stopping by. Really? I wanted to get that feel but I'm too much into it to see it. Glad it took you to that place

0bz thanks again! Means a lot.

    Thanks so much Peter!

Here's a quick sculpt I'm modeling for a video game.

Didn't exactly follow Ceco's steps for this one, but tried to get a similar render

    work in progress

    edit: some tweaks

i like the Renaissance style and the world-weary look in his eyes.

More strong pieces; The Soul Reaver tribute is fab, as is the detail in that old man's face...no, not you, the previous one
Everyone's said it already, but it really is amazing to see your progress over this thread

This was one of my speed sculpts for a video game I've been working on, based on Hyrohiku's concept. The anatomy is a bit off, was just going for an overall feel.

Hey dude, did we try to start a band on facebook? Memory like a sieve and i've got 3 bands on the go at the minute. If I turned down a facebook invite, apologies, i keep getting hassled by old video games fanboys so I've been kinda avoiding the place ;p
What do you play? have you told me already? :} Oh the shame... i'm putting my bad memory down to baby-induced sleep deprivation

Nice ape btw, and no, that's not a pick-up line
