upham - Thanks. I'm attempting to model based on real people, not anatomy charts. According to your post the man in this image has no ribcage.

P'etur - Thank you. I'm guessing you meant his abs were the lego part? I always intended on tweaking them in ZBrush as doing it in 3ds max would have been a pain. So, I modeled them based on the general structure of each ab muscle and left the actual shape of them for when I could easily push and pull them in ZB.

Here's what I've done in ZBrush. Now I'll begin modeling the in-game version from this. I may add more detail later if I have extra time.

I assure you that bodybuilder has a ribcage. Think what he was saying is although you can find a few examples of people who appear to have no ribcage, most of us have visible rib cage lines. The model doesn't look believable as a human form.

The rib muscles need some tweaking too. He looks like he has 20 abs going around his waist. Hope that helps ya man.

They are still a bit too square imo.

I recently submitted an Unreal Tournament 3 version of the character in the Make Something Unreal contest.

Here's how the character looks in my Dominance War IV entry. I'll continue to work on it until I come up with a true final version for UT3 and possibly an illustration to submit to Exotique 5.

The UT3 character looked way better than the Beauty shot. Your very good at 3ds max modeling, but you need to work on rendering. Also, if you learn how to sculpt properly in Zbrush you will figure out that you didn't need to do all that detail in max. Zbrush saves alot of time and effort.

Thanks u3190. Yeah, I'm doing all of my new work inside of ZBrush first. Right now I'm completely redoing my UT3 characters as practice before modeling for my first Unreal Engine game. I'll post the new models when they're done. Expect noticeable improvement.
