I've decided to attempt something I saw on another forum. An hour sculpt a day. I may just wait for the week and update, but here's day 1 from a sphere. Was trying to get used to the planar brushes, kind of confusing.

Little update. Been trying to work out all the wrinkles, but it's tough.
I plan to have him wear a suit so I haven't done much with the body or pose.

I love the grin!
Are you going to leave the Eye sockets empty? I think Eyes might ruin the expression. But I suppose its worth experimenting.

Little update. Pose and Clothing added. Gonna go in with details now. Colors are just a placeholder.

Another update on this WIP. Planning to use him for a short in a school project. Not really 100% on the story but I like to think of new characters anyway.I rendered him out in Maya and colored in Photoshop. Trying to get a warm and cool feeling going on, but I think I need more contrast.

Been working on the other character a bit more to try and work out how everything fit together. I'm gonna leave it alone for now as I just got Scott Spencer's book Zbrush : Digital Sculpting Human Anatomy. It's great filled with tons of pictures to demonstrate every step and comes with a DVD with hours of video showing exactly what's in the book. So I'm going to work on that and then come back and see how horribly wrong my anatomy has been.![]()

Seeing your progress over the last 9 months is really great. As someone who just started a beginners sketchbook just last week I can only hope I can make progress as rapidly as you have.

Well I'm sure if I was getting paid someone would care. Hopefully I'll work up to your speed if I keep at it.Originally Posted by cherub_rock
Thanks. My original plan is to have a thread where I go from having trouble making spheres to being the next da vinci, but I'm still a little bit off.Originally Posted by meatycheesyboy

I just keep seeing something different I want to fix every time I look at him and it's driving me nuts.
And an hour hand study.

Working on a super hero type character and really trying to get the silhouette and overall form down. If anyone sees anything that looks wrong please point it out.

Yes, it was probably the best money I've spent on learning how everything fits together. I saw your thread and you're starting off better than me.Originally Posted by robertrageson
