Default My first work in ZBrush - T-rex

I know, there are lot of T-rexes here, but let me publish my one. This is my first work in ZBrush. The base mesh is modelled in 3D Max. The teeth and the tongue are also modelled in Max, and inserted as subtool. The body is on the 4rd subdivision level, I'm working on the details now. All comments and critics are welcome.

Mate this looks pretty good, i think the back half of the trex just looks a too big especially the feet but the head is very good so far.

Looks good so far. I like the calf muscles and the jawline especially. I'm interested in seeing your base mesh. His forearms might be a bit small, but I'm no dino expert. It'll be cool to see once you've got some of the skin texture on there.

Hi Dave! Here is the base mesh, as you requested. I'm going to texture it, when the sculpting work is done. About the shape of the dino. I used ja_popov's works as a reference (you could find his thread here in ZBrushcentral.) I'm not a dino expert as well, but I like the shape of ja_popov's dinos.

From front on, it looked a little boxy, and then when I saw your basemesh it confirmed it. I would taper off the top of the body toward the spine, specifically at the hips. Also, I think the rear legs should be a bit longer- from the side view they look too stocky.

Good to see you working on a low subdiv before moving on to details- that's the worst habit that we have to break.

SolidSnakexxx, Gboess, thank you both for the feedback. I'm trying to refine the shape, and adding some more details. I'm trying to stay as low subdiv level, as possible, but the temptation is high to get more polygons. I have not much time nowadays, but I hope, I could post some progress soon.

It's not very accurately portortional compared to actual t-rex's.

V-Rex_Freak: thank you, happy you like it.
TheNorm: thanks. I think you right, as gboess said earlyer the legs are a bit short. I'm working on make them longer a bit, and refining the overall shape of the rex as well. I'll post some progress later on today.

So, here is a small update. I worked on the head, the forearm, and on the right leg (anyway, I make the legs a bit longer). Still in subdiv level 4.

Hi All! Here is a small progress. I worked on the details on the legs, and the head. I repositioned the eyes as well, and made the head narrower a bit. If anybody have a good idea how to make the skin texture, please let me know.
