    Default pixolClay's Sketchbook

Hey everyone, here's a model I did for a friend of mine. He gave me a sketch and I took care of the rest. Can't seem to come up with anything to put in the background...any ideas?

Kudos on the model. He looks to me like somekind of priest, so i'd go for mayan pyramids and jungle. He'd be standing on top of one, the ledge is showing in the back and the horizon would be covered in foliage. And the sun would shine behind him.

as for your question. i'd think a murky space bar-joint would look great.

Industrial area would be good to set him in.

To me he looks like one jacked up pumpkin-faced guy. I would put him as a farmer of pumpkins with a whole field of them in the background or something....

I would also open that left eye just a bit more so we can see his eye and into his soul. Breathe some life into him maybe.

.. or maybe James, the God of Earth from the game Sacrifice. But that's almost the same character as Earthworm Jim, both games came from Shiny.

look great, i like the render, very gritty. i'm thinking a pile of less evolved worm guys looking at him like he's dinner. he just seems ready to make a decision as he stands there comly. with worm drool dripping onto his, head. what do you think to much?

Wow!!! I wasn't expecting so many replies...thanks everyone. I was thinking about maybe putting him inside a cave, very gloomy and adding some kind of area fog using maya fluids....but, we'll see.

threetails: HAHAHA!! I like that idea, seems pretty cool. Although its not exactly what I was aiming for in this image, but sounds like something I might do later on...

    sandpiper
: cool idea, you're right. I will open the eye a little.

    Mihkelangelo
: I really like that idea, might head towards that direction.

abyss103: That's exactly what i thought the first time I saw the concept!

DAnconia: I also thought about that setting...I'll do a few sketches and see what looks better.

Sitting on a throne or maybe in a nick-nack shop would be cool.

Looks awesome. It looks like you took some inspiration from Kolby Juke's bat. Not that I'm accusing you of anything.....ok, ill shut up now.
