Hello all! Thanks for checking in! I'm very excited about this WIP contest. I wish the best to everyone, I'm really seeing some RIDICULOUS talent out there!! lol. I hope I can keep up with you guys. Well here we go.. please keep in mind that there is a deeper story to this character, i just tried to "summarize" the best I could for now... (I'll post some more of the story later on if any are intrested.)




The Story of Hendrixx.



Growing up with his Grandmother in the Saratoga District. Issey found life with her to be pleasant, calming, peaceful and very enlightening. He noticed early on her love for her "fellow man", and how she made the best out of every situation. Not knowing much about his parents other than what his grandmother told him, some vague memories, and a couple of pictures. Issey has always felt that this is where they would want him to be. One day, the day of the invasion... Issey’s friends, dog and neighborhood all fell to the hands of a Giant Flying Alien Whale that invaded Earth. A few months later after seeking shelter and hiding from attackers. Issey’s grandmother gives him a ring (*A Ring with a movable center band that has 12 Roman Numerals engraved on it*.) that has been passed down from previous generations and tells him, “Within this Ring, lies the secrets to happiness… BUT! You must beware its consequences!” soon after explaining where the ring has come from, she passes away trying to defend her 14 year old grandson. Issey was taken prisoner. Sitting in his cell one night, he spins the center band of the ring his grandmother had given him. What happens next changed the world forever…



In the Ring lie 12 dormant Genie’s and one guide/companion. The guide awakens to a new owner and tells Issey, “You are now the keeper of Calypsus. You have 12 Very powerful magical genies that will grant you 36 wishes. 3 from each genie. Be warned! Those, whom dare wish from genies 6-12 without matching a particular prerequisite first, will face “certain” consequences! Please respect the genies at all times, and they will treat you the same... A single spin of the rings numbered center will call upon a genie at random, and one will serve as soon and as quickly as possible. I will be keeping a tab of how many wishes you have gone threw as you make them. What happens upon reaching your 36th wish will be disclosed at a later time. You have spun the ring once already and have awakened the Gods of Calypsus, so please call upon the first genie and spin the ring again to make your first wish.” 3 wishes later... Issey has his neighborhood, his grandmother and friends, and his dog all back to the way they were before the invasion. He also now has a set of powers such as Super speed, Strength, Agility and Invulnerability. And his 3rd wish was to have 12 Powerful Magical Guardians that will protect him and his family for the rest of eternity so he would never lose anyone else again. He also included in that wish to have them do his bidding when ever he was unable to do things himself. He has 33 wishes left… where’s that alien??

==His Primary Powers include (but not limited to due to Genies'):==

Super Strength, Super Speed, Super Agility, Mastery of "Extreme Break Dancing", and "Urban Jumping".

He can summon 12 Powerful Guardians to protect him and do his bidding with the snap of his fingers.

and has the power to summon any 1 of 12 genies with the spin of his Ancestrial Relic Ring named Calypsus.

pitchepuck: Thanks! Well.. I was kinda going to try to go for a mix between Manga and "Standard" Comic style with him.. Im waiting to see how much of it I can actually translate into a sculpt on zbrush. I'm hopefull and looking for more tips and tricks on how to do that lol.

therasoft: Thanks! After this set of updates, I should have some more posted up pretty soon. (I'm working on the base sketches his hands and head at the moment.)

I wanted to get a feel for the pose and how it would look sculpted. So started to use transpose here to get the body ready for sculpting...

Ok... sorry for the delayed update.. that week went by kinda fast lol.. anyway heres an update on Hendrixx.. i wanted to get started on the subtool parts that i will attach to him a lil bit later. (i.e. his hands, head and dreads to start)







in the next update i will have more of his face completed and hopefully a simple sketch of his jeans/pants and t-shirt and mayyyyyybe i'll be able to squeeze some time in there for the base of the giants.. really lookin forward to starting those.. i have some good ideas for them lol.. you'll see.. alllllllright.. that about wraps it up for now.. im gonna try to have a more detailed version of his body mesh completed by tonite and i'll post that up as soon as it's done.

Interesting use of ZSphere . Just one small crit would be I think you start to increase the level just a tad too early.. I'd suggest defining the form a bit more before upping the level or posing. Concentrate on the main form you are going for first, then you will be safe. Look forward for more

Hi all sorry for the delay! :S here are some updates on Hendrixx!
some changes have occured since the last update..
after reading what ssnake said late one night.. (lol he was right..) i tried to put all the pieces together like a "frankenstien" type of thing and it didnt work out to great lol.. it REALLY looked frankenstienish lol.. so to save some time and some sanity, i just used the super average generic mesh and went to town.. here's the new Hendrixx!

thanks for the input ssnake.. lol that would have been very upsetting towards the end when trying to get them all together to pose correctly.. i know it's possible but it's wayyyy to time consuming :S. although, i will be using a zsphere base mesh for the genie that he's interacting with. (the same one from the last post.)
