Trying to get this in bad boy in by the deadline, so I apologize for the rough sketch, and few details. I will edit, and add more details as the process goes on.

    Background:
A brilliant young scientist who was confined to a wheelchair due to a debilitating muscular disease, dedicated his life seeking to discover a cure.
After years of dedicated work by him, assisted by his close friend in his secluded research facility, recent tests were beginning to show great promise for a cure.
One eventful day, he and his assistant felt they had finally achieved a possible breakthrough, but needed to conduct more tests to be sure. As they continued working in the lab, a devastating earthquake rocked the building causing great damage, and the lab assistant was injured and pinned under a large piece of rubble. The destruction also created a chemical fire which would kill the scientist, and his assistant unless quick action was taken.
In a desperate attempt to save his friend, the scientist felt he had only one chance: To use the untested treatment on himself in an attempt to cure himself thus enabling him to save his friend. Crippled, with no assistance, and time running out, he accidentally gave himself a megadose of the untested treatment which resulted in his gaining incredible muscle size, and strength. He was able to quickly free his assistant and get him away from the building before the chemical fire caused a chain reaction which destroyed the lab, and most of his research. It was from this epic event, that the hero, GAMUT was born.

    Powers:
GAMUT has great control over his body. He can change the size, hardness, and density of his muscles over his entire body, or just on one muscle, or just his arms, or his legs. The bigger he makes his muscles, the more powerful he becomes. He can make his muscles and his skin so hard, that bullets, and at the very least, small artillery shells cannot penetrate his body. His skeletal system has also become reinforced to handle his fluctuating muscle mass. His height also increases when he expands his muscles to maximum size.

    Weaknesses:
GAMUT cannot use his power indefinitely. He can tire like a normal human. The greater the power he uses, the less time he is able to use it. Generally, the bigger he makes his muscles, the more power he expends. Making his muscle mass large takes some concentration. If Gamut were knocked cold, he would soon return to normal size.

nice illustration! very Kirby-esque. This guy has some powers that will make him the envy of all of the other superheroes for sure.

Saying that one of my little doodles reminded you of the great Jack "King" Kirby; one of the great comic masters all time, has to be one of the greatest compliments anyone could have ever given me. Thanks! You are way too kind!

    good luck with your project.
Thanks for the critique! It does have more resemblance to the Internet Explorer logo than I would like. And, since I'm a Mac guy, the last thing I want him to be mistaken for is some dude from the planet Microsoft. After all, he's supposed to be one of the good guys -not a villian!
Ironically, even though, I've had this character in mind for years, one of the reasons I took so long to get this character on here was because I suddenly had to come up with a superhero name that doesn't already exist. His name was originally supposed to be OVERMAN, but I just found out that name is already in use. Every single name I came up with was already taken. I didn't find a hero named EPIC when I Googled, so I hope I'm in the clear. Although, now I do see the Epic Games thread currently up, so I guess I just can't get a break. LOL Oh, well, better start brushing up on my ZBrush skills.
