looking great! I wasn't sure how you were going to pull this off, but you've done it. My one crit would be the shoulders it looks like he's a human in a fish suite, if you know what I mean.

    hey there,

many thanks for your very nice words! its motivating me! thanks!!! =)

@ Hamilcar, yeah, i know what you mean. but that was the look i was after. i think it underlines his stupidity! and stupidity is my favorite style of humor.... ^^

so, here are some minor updates. first color scheme and the sculpted dress.
i think it fits him nice! :P he looks SO stupid ^^ i think the color is ok. only the scheme, the final texture comes later, when i am done sculpting...

but at first i will try to sculpt his final bag full of money and his hat.

so, heres my progress so far:

    hi there,

thank you all so much for your nice replys! thanks.

i didn't think about the eyes so far... this guy is developing by his own... i'm just his instrument. :P
the texturing and the whole color is just provisional. all together it took me 10 minutes to paint him.
now he has already 4,5 mio polys. i would love to detail his face further... i dunno, i think all together the face is ok... i never saw a fishes anatomy scheme, so it's all my imagination.... something between a frog and a fish.

here is my progress so far... i tried to detail his arms like old, fishy skin, but i think its to much. maybe i'll try to achieve such an skin like a drown person.... oh hey, i didn't think about THIS so far... and i think that could be funny and i'll try it.

the face is ok so far, but the arms need a rework... this details suck and the idea with the drown-body-skin on his arms is much better, i think... hard texture work -.- thats not my streinght...

sorry for that long post. but like i said, this guy is developing at the time i sculpt it and this is a tricky part... this detail thing =/

and i ever forget the movie-making!!! damn! last time i wondered why zbrush asked me TWO times to save the document.... no, one was the movie i forgot to export... =(

now i didn't forget it. the making of hat... :P just short transpose and retopo action...

Funny! Nice action pose, too. This is going to be a laugh to keep track of, keep it up and all the best to you

By the way, thanks for that hat vid, it's always good to see people's individual techniques. Gave me some ideas!

EDIT: weird, dunno why there was a thumb down in title to my post... maybe I'm going schizo, I sure hope not

    hey there,

    thanks for your comments!

so far, so good. at this stage (4,5 mio polys only the guy) i think about retopo him. the head is done. VERY dense mesh... and it was complicated.
i just think, if i want to detail him further in his face and on his arms/legs, this areas should be dense. theoretical i don't need the body so i could delete it, but i like him how he is.
theoretical, in my common way, i would clone the mesh, go down to subdiv lvl 1, hide the mesh i don't need (the body).
this destroys your levels, so level up again, append the cutted, not anymore detailed mesh to my original mesh and project the details. that would keep the performance and give the ability to detail.

but hey, i never gone so far in a challange, so i'll try to retopo him and keep it clean. only quads, and one, closed mesh (head, arms and legs WITH the body.

maybe i was too correct in retopo the head. but better this way, than having a problem later.

and i decided to give him fish-scales. nothing more, just simple scales. made with an alpha.

i made a progress-video for the topology part. i hope youtube doesn't kill it, when uploading. it isn't finish right now, so i will edit this post later.

    but here are my pics:

Mr Fish looks even more solid with his scales on. I so look forward to see this one complete.
