Hey thanks a lot Etcher, petekasim, Lucky_1, digitalsmithy, SolidSnakexxx, goldo_O, AVTPro, Point, - FoOD -, threetails, markrulz, Moni-Poroni, Limitless_Thought2207 and Alliecat 08. Your comments keep me going!

I finished sculpting his back and made the plates for the back roots. I also started laying down some base colors and painted a few of the vines along his side. I think I will finish painting what I have sculpted and then go back and finish sculpting the rest just to break up the monotony. (I'm really putting off making the leg vines)

geebus! This is truly awesome! Amazing work, Im really loving the painting and insane level of detail. Your approaching the uncanny valley so things that are off will stand out more. The screen left leg (his own right leg) muscles look a little bit flat between the muscle seperation. How many polys are you up to? this is so cool!

Hey thanks, maxinkuk, Finners, threetails, Etcher, Captain Sensible, Webhead and canndis for all the kudos!

slickytom - Thanks! Yeah I totally agree about the muscle separation. I inflated those areas a bit and I think that helped.

SolidSnakexxx - Thanks! This is my first time poly painting but I followed the tutorial in Scott Spencer's Zbrush book to try and get a successful skin. The roots were acheived using the cavity mask and just painting certain areas with black, then inverting and putting lighter blues and greens on certain raised roots.

So, I'm feeling overwhelmed since I haven't finished sculpting everything. I really want to finish this since I've put so much time into it already but I'm spending so much time on the painting (plus it's a lot of fun) I can't seem to get back to finishing the other sculpted pieces. I hope I can finish by next weekend.

I did give the face and hands some love though and tried to make a stone matcap (which did not turn out so great) for the plates. I may have to look for one somewhere. Pay no attention to the giant hand in the side shot. The camera's focal length is set to like 35 and I forgot to change it back. Crits welcome as always!
