hey guys, long time no see! as usual an amazing quality of work up here! so here are some things ive been working on for my VFS showreel. thanks to all. some are WIP and some are speed sketches and 1 or 2 are finished. hopefully everyone can tell which are wich hehe. peace Henry

an unrendered WIP of my human charcter, the tattoo will eventually strech from his left sholder all the way down his right leg. needs more blue i think. not sure of the pose yet either.


the only finished peice in my showreel at the moment. this character is rigged and animated and the full render will be available on my website soon!

a little something from term 3 at VFS that i was considering re-rendering and putting in my showreel. needs tweaks... and eyes.

Whoa dude, you're the master of skin texturing. Wanna give us a bit more insight into how you pulled this off? That's some totally impressive stuff.

LIke, is that purely ZBrush rendering or did you do those four heads in Mental Ray?

hey Cadmium77 thanks for the kind words! the second head was handpainted using Scott Spencers polygone painting technique, if you dont have the book Zbrush "creature creation" i would definately recommend it to start out, and the others further up are all photo-projections from Zapp Link. more to come! the last body looks nice.
the other ones are ok too.

but in the time to come i think you should really put love and effort into some original models and concepts.

vfs is a damm expensive place and you wont want to leave it with a reel thats just "ok".
im guessing that a lot of potential workgivers dislike vfs simply because they are self thaught and see it as a rich kid school. for those kind of people you need to have proof that you are worthy of calling urself a vfs graduate and full grown 3d artist.

go grab some concepts and then model your ass off! right now its more a collection of wips and doodles.

i hope you understand what i mean. this is in no way supposed to be offensive.

now go ahead and impress us. that male full body sculpt you have there seems like a great start for a character

Model your ass off the rest of your VFS days
Think about that you won't have 24 hours a day to model after your school days, specially if you land a job.

Started the tattoo for my character tonight and im putting this one to bed once ive finished his hair and japanese style thong. (sorry i dont know the proper terminology)
