    Default Action Hero-Lightwave

    Hero entry by Gabriel King

Back Story: Year 2013, Sky King (aka - Lightwave), a former black ops agent in the late 80's.
Sky retired, and was immediately re-hired by Nasa to help conduct security breach test's on the grounds of a top secret base..

One morning while checking his e-mail a new message came in that was strange enough to open. It read: --Dear Mr. President here are the papers you requested on the apollo 18 debriefing.

Historical note: Apollo 18 never left the ground due to lack of funding.

----1970 ---- Nasa and the U.S. govt. succeded in sending a crew of 5 to the moon for the sole purpose of exploring the dark side. As they landed they were greeted by a molevant alien race Named the (Archaloids).. The Archaloid's have inhabited the moon for thousand's of year's, and were not happy that Nasa was there...
A brief battle ensued,.. we lost. Three were killed, and two remain hostage's kept for scientific research and we are assuming various other experaments..

--That bring's you up to date..
We have been recieving faint radio signals from the Moon in the last few week's.. Amazingly enough we think it is them.. messages read SOS..
--Just at that moment sky was grabbed by the shoulders and a deep voice said to him.. "You have just voluntered your services; Get your affair's in order your headed on a recon mission to the Moon.."
Sky's boss hit (send all) when e-mailing the President's de-briefing... His mistake my misfortune...

Abilitys: can resist extreme heat and cold, along with any virus or enginered
toxins.Has flex carbon fiber exoskeleton for added strength..as well as being a fully solar powerd suit..with wifi,gps,ipod,etc..attachments..The solar suits receive's updates via satellite,When the suit power is low, lightwave has to reach the GPS corridence to receive the recharge/updates..

Weapons: can wield most any type of weapon, carries a Beam generator gun
capable of acelorating objects to the speed of light..Helpful with pesky aliens..adjustments can be made for stun or kill..and a silenced .45

So here is the z-sphere model. The fingers were pretty difficult to work out
but i figured it out through the tutorials on this awesome site..I'm not going to need toes so i'll leave those out.My Ires was set to 6 and i left everything else alone then pressed make adaptive skin.(but not before i cloned it so i would not ruin the origional z-sphere model.
I will continue to post my progress, snap shots as much as possible..

This is showing the edge loops i need for the detail around the eyes, nose and mouth..

Here are the hands.Still need some tweaking but good enough for now..

    lhands.jpg

Ok so here i have hidden everything but the hands so i can get to them better. Then i used the move tool to get them the way i need them to look.. I'll post more as i go.

Yes, good start with the mesh. I want to remind everyone that, since this project stays within ZBrush, that the mesh doesn't have to be "perfect" with edge flow and all. Just keep going in a creative direction and don't worry about technical accuracy. And why ditch the exoskeleton? Just because someone else had a similar idea? Do what you want to do anyway. We are all going to have elements that are like others. Should I ditch my boots just because someone else has boots on their guy? Nope.

Also, my hero, Eclipse, never mentioned the Archaloids. I wonder if they are responsible for his powers, too? Just kidding.... good luck and keep up the good work.

I have to agree with Slosh there that...your idea of Exoskeleton need not be removed.. As there are so many super powers that bound to repeat form one to another... The most important thing is have fun in this contest...and of course for all who participate..will definitely gain something...at least for me have already earn more ZBuddies

Hey your right slosh, have more fun and less head ache's..i tend to get to grinding and forget to be more loose or whatever..as for the exo part of the suit,i think i got to technical but since you put it that way i may reuse the idea
just in a little diffrent way..thank's alot.your words are inspiration!

Thanks snake,i am having fun and making zbud's also..
Thanks for your support also lucky, this is exciting to see all these great artists
    coming together!!

Neat concept. I like how you've shown your progression from zSpheres to adaptive skin, great job. My only concern would be that the issues are on the dark side of the Moon but his suit is solar powered.

All in all though great start keep up the good work!

Looking good so far.. However, I think the head (on this image) 's a tad big for the character. With minor tweak, I think it'll be perfect.
