    Default Action Hero - Righteous

    Artist Name: Anthony Minto

I think I have gone a bit overboard with the origin story of my character and not left enough time to actually make it lol!

    Good luck to everyone entering.

Wow, if graphic design doesnt work out for you, you can always be a writer.

Excelent picture to match the story aswell. 10/10

You've already set the bar pretty high for yourself with that bio. I'll be watching to see how this guy develops.

    Thank you chaps!

Now the difficult part: designing the character. I have a couple of ideas and they are broken down into two possibilities. Do I go for an all out comic hero type costume? Or do I keep it based in the 'real world'?

I'm going to work on some concepts and I'll post my WIP's soon.

Cheers again for the positive feedback, now where's that coffee pot?

Wow, you can really write! Amazing concept It took me several minutes to completely reading the back story. The concept is strong. Can't wait to see it get sculpted.

That's a thorough background note. Good inspiration for the art, I'm looking forward to it.

Excellent work on the Bio. If you are as tenacious with this part your model should be outstanding. Good job.

Thank you for the great response to the back story guys. I appreciate you all taking the time to read it. Luckily most of you seem to have been able to stay awake whilst reading it so that must be a good thing lol!

Me? A Graphic artist? If only! Worked in a crappy marketing job up until about, ooh, 3 weeks ago when Mr. Credit Crunch decided my services were no longer required. Job hunting begins in earnest in the new year. Onwards and upwards dear reader!

Back to the contest. Here is a quick sketch of the '14th century - First Encounter' Mortimus I quickly threw at the screen this evening. Not sure about the Elvira/Gene Simmons/Conan haircut. I thought I would do a fair bit of sketching and try to get under the skin of the guy. The blue tattoos are only present when Mortimus is transformed into Righteous.

It is but a sketch (a bad one at that) and first attempt at building the character. I want to produce a model set in the present day. Still not sure if I go for the full 'SUPER HERO' costume for this guy or not.

Not a bad sketch at all. After the first read I was wondering how he might look as well. Now I have a better idea

I thought I had better make a start on the base mesh. This is the zsphere base so far. Still messing about with some costume ideas. base-mesh-so-far.jpg
