The Rock texture is looking really sweet, and the blood splatter is a nice detail . I agree be great if they do some sort of booklet of Heroes and Villains, kind of like those Marvel/DC character encyclopedias of everyones stuff
Thank you so much, Master Rick Baker....I will add the heads after the contest for certain The base needs some chopped head. BTW, My boss, Prince Chatri of Thailand (and also our movie director) have said many good things about you and your wonderful talents. You are one of my most respected mentors..I'm so honor to have your presence in my thread.
Thank you so much Marsyas...I think I'm gonna go for the transparent wing like the last post
No problem there, mate.. I think this technique is quite useful for transparency objects. And surely it will look supreme in your hero entry!
Thank you krub. Texturing is a real fun process.
Hey there, buddy. Glad you like my update... BTW, your entry's looking so awesome now with the texture and details.....he's one cool hero!
Thank you for such kind comment, markrulz. I'm so happy I decided to join the contest...not only that I'm able to excel at ZBrush but also able to meet many cool people at once.
Thanks, man. I'd definitely buy the book if they come up with one..In fact, it can almost be like a tutorial (WIP) book.
Mid day break at work Here comes the turn table for the version with Rock texture with some blood splashes.. Nothing exciting..... Just can't wait to get home to so some ZBrushing....

Wow you have been busy. Really great job. I love him. I love that new base you made for him and all the vids. I wish you all the best of luck in this contest and hope to see you in the top 25. I love those wings. Thanx for sharing how you did them. I am so truly impressed with you sculpting and your creation I hope to see your name up in lights one day if you are not already...I am one fan of many you have already. Take care and Happy Zbrushing.
Awesome work. Top row for me. Love the concept. the model. details, all of it. Good luck on the competition.
This is great! I love the pose you've picked (especially from the front). I also like the base. It's very fitting for the character. I tip my hat to your skills sir!

It´s great that I´ve seen Mantis-Man from the begining on. Such an amazing progress!!
You´re work is truly inspiring..

Thank you..glad you like the base.....it's nearly complete
Thanks, mate. Glad you approve of my entry.
I'm so in-debt of all the people here helping me choosing a pose. It was a real tough decision for me. And man, I'm glad I listen to you guys and selected this pose...
Thank you so much...The rock was very fun to paint...like meditating indeed when you do painting with Poly Paint...
Thank you SirNeo. Glad you like it, man.
Thank you, Captain Sensible. Mantis Man has had a long journey....to get to this stage...man I can't believe the end of his journey is near.
Thank you, sir.
Thank you, electricCAT. Frankly the color process is the most fun had....in any of my texturing projects...it's so much fun...very intuitive as well!
Thank you so much, Moni-Poroni. I realize making model like this is like nurturing a baby and seeing him/her grow.....it's been such a wonderful experience and I get to meet so many cool people...including yourself. Thank you so much for your kind comments.
Whew..Last night I spent sometime fine tuning some sculpt work (Tonight as well) And also add the Mantis Man Logo to the base... 2 more days left I'll be spending time doing some minor stuff...adding blood stain to his blade, etc...
Here is the model with logo.
I have to say this is my favorite concept out of all the Hero Challenge contest. I love Mantis Man! Very cool. I love the fact that he is asyemetrical. I love asyemetrical characters.
Love, love, love Mantis man but I will say Preying Mantis used to cool in my book but they are really big punks.
Pretty much any bug can whoop a praying mantis.
Awww talk about an underdog superhero.
The Centipede and Hornet are where it's at!
Emperor scorpion is okay.
The Rhino Beetle does not do much killing but no one can defeat it. It's too powerful.
Tarantula's just a big weak punk too! Bleh!
Hey you may go through a bug theme story! I'm sure you can do tons of designs based on those creatures.
