I think this is one great model. The muscle mass's just impressive! Love it!

    Lucky, Teyon, Solidsnake, thanks!

Yeah, when I retopo'd the model, I had to project the details back onto the model. After increasing the resolution of the model, I got some weird creaing going on so I had to smooth the model to fix it. When I did that, some of the detail was lost. I haven't got back to the lower part of the figure at all yet to restore some of the detail, but I'm working my way down there.

As for the feet, I do still need to detail them because they will have sandals on.

I finally worked on the concept for the pose. Just a quick sketch to try to capture the movement with a simple base design.

Hey KrakenCMT, love that sketch, the pose is fantastic.
I do have to say though I like the proportions in your both of your sketches much better than the proportions of your model. But that my be just my personal taste.

    Harmonic,

Yeah I was just looking at that myself. Once I transpose him, I'll re-look at the proportions and see if it works better with him being thinner or bigger.

The pose sketch is looking awesome... It really shows his confidence and of course showing his shear muscle power! Looking forward to the model posed as well

I worked a bit more on the hands and feet today. When the hands and feet are posed, I'll try to add a bit more interest to them.

Thanks for posting the vids! It's actually helped me learn a fair bit on 3D sculpting!!

Keeping my eye on this one!

No problem, Dustbin. That's why I made them. There's more on the way too. I'm trying to document the whole process. Sometimes I forget to turn on the time-lapse recording, but for the most part, I'm getting it all down. I just need to find the time to transcode and upload the movies I haven't posted yet which are the ones for the hands and feet.

EDIT: I'm also thinking about possibly adding a mystical shield to the character. One that is summoned along with the pike/spear. It might go along with the concept of him calling upon the powers of the war god. I'm not sure though.....

FYI, There's a link to the vids on Veoh's website in my first post, if the embedded videos aren't working. Maybe those will work.
