Default Sunny Sunday Sketch

JA_sketch_01_thumb_001.jpg

StefanH - thanks mate appreciate the comments as always they are very useful to me.

dustinbrown - should really get back to the male base mesh and get it sorted out. Thanks for popping by Dustin. Glad you like the stuff

Etcher - always aiming to please you sir thanks for you continued support.

Marsyas - Thank you very much

OlirO - I have another sketch for you.

So here is a new sketch. It's probably not as good as last weeks one but I had less time (about 3 hours or 4 hours) because it was nice and sunny so I didn't want to be stuck indoors.

Anyways let me know what you guys like, as always.

Hope you like this new sketch.

Hey Scott, the latest looks great: I can feel underlying skull, muscle and fat volumes. Would you mind posting side-views of your two latest head studies? I'm curious to see how you placed the zygomatic bone in those.
Your steady improvements keep motivating me man! !

LOL - what makes me laugh is it was your work that made me really get into the underlying structure. The first pieces you posted.

humm zygomatic bone hummm yes that bothers me in my work. Its the one bone I haven't nailed properly. I am a bit scared to post side shots because these are just sketches and I am sure the side profiles look crappy.

I will have a look tonight and see if they are postable.

damn that zygomatic bone

Come on Scott, if you want, we'll take a look at his "zygomatic bone" stuff together: check the attachment I made for Cemond, let me know if it helps you! Looking forward to the side views !

Didn't you notice: I studied bones, muscles, cartilidge and tendons, but glands, fat and skin... .

hello scott
Yes awesome sketchbook.
nice to see the progress here , motivates me to do some more head sculpts and think about the underlying structure, especially the zygomatic bone

A.Fredenucci - thank you kindly
schiefer - I love doing head sketches and faces. Expressions are my next goal. I will post an example very soon. Thank you for your comment

Hey guys. Etcher, as he always does, made me go back a look at the shape of the heads I had done recently and of course he was totally right in pointing out a few things that were wrong.

Thankfully I had the chance to clean up this sketch and get it to a nice point which I thought I would post.

Texturing and materials are a long way form finished but the polypaint is roughed out so far. I am much happier with the overall form and I have lit the head to try and show the Zygomatic bone in all it's glory

Let me know what you think.

Yep Scott, a good idea to post the progress, cause it's lookin' sweeeeeet! I don't think zygobones come much better than the ones on this guy! I'm a bit jealous about the polypaint too .

Really nice sculpt mate and really nice textures.

Any chance of you sharing your lighting, rendering and skin shader setup for Maya mental ray? It would be great to see how you put your render together.
