Default First Post:Demon, a vintage telephone and more..

    Hello everybody!

This is my first post to ZBrush central.

    post3-highres.jpg

A Vintage Telephone I made last night. Constructed with ZSPheres and detailed in ZBrush.

And here is a demon. Served as well for some anatomy studying.

    :Thriller Theater:
your stuff looks very good for a beginner, the telephone from Zspheres is most impressive for some one just starting out.

no real crits but id try using the transpose tools in ZBrush to give the demon a more exciting pose.
keep practising and I'm sure you'll produce some really cool stuff with time.

    :Spljicna:
its a bit rude to take over some ones thread and without even leaving a comment, if you want critique on your work try making a new thread in the main forum.

Hey Thriller! Interesting work ! Do post some WIP Images for the zsphere setup in the phone.I like zspheres too, but I recommend the uniform skinning method in addition to the more frequently used adaptive skining. it gives you an even distribution of polygons which is good for sculpting , specially for still renders . The demon looks good too, but as a beginner to another beginner, try increasing the anti aliasing on the render ( AA half ), and try some more lighting and material options. the anatomy looks good. Good luck

    Thanks for comments!

Spljicna: No worries! Thanks for commenting.

Well these are my first posts but not my first models, hope they don't look like beginner stuff??? I've been working as a modeler/animator for video games for the last 8 years, but I'm a lot newer to zBrush. The point is don't get easy on me!

These are not finished renders but screenshots from zBrush, but I'll put the antialiasing on the next time.

I'm afraid I don't have the ZPheres setup saved, but it was a really simple one. A couple of bigger spheres for the box part and smaller for the rest.

Here is a WIP of a scorpion I'm making.

Please keep on commenting and criting!

arr well that explains the demon and the super slick scorpion, and even as your not a noob the phone form zsphere's still proves you must be getting used to ZBrush quite well.

only crits on the scorpion would be that the sections of the legs blend a bit to much maybe a bit more definition in the joints would improve it.
(although I've never stopped to look at a scorpion for very long, so if thats what the joints look, just ignore me )

    good luck with it

HD CG Addict: Yeah you are right about the legs, thats what I still need to work on to give more detail and also the tail. After that texturing etc. I will be posting more on the scorpion soon!
