    Default Charles of Saint-Emilion

    Hi!

This is one of my last work, still in progress. His name is Charles of Saint-Emilion, perhaps you know the Saint Emilion French wine

I started from a simple ZSphere structure. On the original project, I though of a very long neck, to have a caricature aspect. I don't use ZSphere for the nose, eyes or ears, I prefer sculpting them directly from the simple shape of the ZSphere adaptive skin

The first strokes of sculpting, to refine the idea in mind (and on the paper)

    An update of the sculpting

Here, I started to work on the hairs, the mustache and various edits here and there.

I decided to do a retopology. Not for animation purpose at the end, because I just want to do a still picture, but for optimizing my mesh.
At the end, I have a constant polygon density and the sculpting become a lot better!

This is the current version. I won't edit anymore the face, just working again on the hairs. I don't want to add wrinkles because I want to have this caricature aspect.
I still have to continue on the clothes, accessories...

I did some minor updates bcause of lack of time. I worked on clothes and hairs (all "hairs" ), refine the lips.
I will now work on some props and will change the cigar to a pipe...

Gordon: yes... if I find the time

I created a pipe, in order to change the cigar as I said previously.
The sculpting, which is not done yet

I have to refine the face, I find it too "hard", not really peaceful... And will add some leaf in the head as accessories.
This is just based on some ZSpheres

    Comments are always welcome!

This is the updated pipe and the updated cigar. I have to work a little bit on it. I still have one accessory to do and after, I will start the textures.

Oups, I forgot to post the 3D print which have been made from this model.
In fact, I'm a little bit disappointed, not by the print itself, but by my model itself. The perception I had from my ZBrush sculpting was different from the 3D print.

    The model size is 3"

It's the material. Prime it and then wash it with a darker paint so you have a slight AO effect and you will be surprised. Right now you look at an uncut diamond. You have to post process those 3d prints or they all look like garbage. I cut a lot of CG into wood and it looks horrible till the grain is covered or stained appropriately.
    Best of luck!
