    hey everyone,

This is probably my last update on this guy, I took a couple of hours yesterday to rework the skin and some texturing, overall i think it turned out much better. Well I hope you still like it. Have a good day artists.

Maybe some more visible eyelashes would be good but the cloth textures are superb

Great render! Spec is now perfect.

I agree with the poster above. Add polygonal eyelashes and this is Top Row, IMO.

    5 Stars.

    Default Butch Knyves

    Hey everyone,

Well here is my latest guy, Butch Knyves. I basically took my time and did a couple of other studies before I even decided to go ahead with making Knyves. I've learned many new things, I've noticed areas where I feel like I have improved and others where I still need to keep improving on, but that's the story of any artist taking his art seriously I believe. Well Thanks everyone, I'll keep working and hopefully improving.

    Hey everyone,

Well here is a different shot of the guy, as well as a wip pic from zbrush. I used zbrush for, sculpting, and texturing and photoshop, Max and Softimage for the rest. I still hope you enjoy it. Thanks.

I absolutely do like it. Amazing job man. Could you share the textures how you did the hair and some wire frame shots. That would be really great.

    Thanks for sharing

    sankar82 - Thank you

Framedworld - Thanks, yeah the hair needs more love for sure, hopefully in my next models i'll be able to make it look better. The hair and fur modifier keeps kicking my ass,

arthurduque - Thank you very much.

Eiad - Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

Hey everybody Thanks a lot for your comments and support, Here are the maps I used to create Butch. It is actually quite simple, I've learned that simplicity done well can be more effective than a lot done mediocre . Well I've yet to even land my first cg job, so I could be wrong .

Wires - I like to keep my topology nice and clean, and I also add more
topology where the face might deform more.

oh it seems that you didn't use sss on your material, right? because I'm really struggling to achieve something good with the sss shader.

Eiad - Well the maps are 4k, and I rely a lot in the bump map and diffuse. I did use the Vraysss2, and I am still learning it as well. Alrighty, once again thanks.

Default Some old Some new work

    Hey everybody,

So here are some updates on few personal stuff I've been doing on my free time. I would've had much more but the hard drive of my brand new pc decided to be a rebel and stopped working. I lost a couple of characters I was doing including two females. I was angry at first but as soon as i received my new hard drive I went back to work even more determined. I've also been working as character artist at game studio in Sherman Oaks, so I don't have as much free time as I used to. I'm still going home after work and I follow tutorials, I try to learn the new stuff in zbrush and I check on my favorite artists to keep me motivated. The longer I'm in this industry the more respect I have for them.

I'll briefly try to describe the images.

These were all lunch studies I've made at work, no more than 3hrs on any. I am by no means an anatomy expert but I really enjoy learning about it everyday if I can. The tricky part was figuring out all the angles from just 1 main image I would find online.

    Concept by Johannes Helgeson
This guy was fun make. I just wanted to try a different style from what I usually do. So first I blocked it out in zbrush to get the proportions and major shapes I was happy with and then I poly modeled it. Perhaps one day I'll texture and light him, we'll see.

I do not know who made the initial concept i used for this guy. If you do PLEASE give that person all the credits for the original design. I modeled him about a year ago and I found an obj of him on old thumb drive, and I just wanted to share the model. For this guy i modeled most of it, but zbrush came in handy for proportions, and the sculpting of the head, pants and some other stuff.

This grumpy looking dude started as a lunch sculpt and I decided to take him a final state. This is the only pic i have of him which i took from my blog and the quality isn't the best. He was lost along with the hard drive.. At least i have this one. With everything I do I try to learn and grow as an artist and on a personal level I learned quite bit with this piece.

    one more...
