Oh yes. Make sure it has Leopard. I'd up the RAM to 4+ gigs, too. Even 1 more gig would help a lot. Memory is pretty cheap as long as you don't buy it from apple. ZB is dependent on memory for polycounts, so it will really enhance how far you can take a model.

Question 3.12 upgrade for bootcamp user?

I had to start using ZBrush earlier this summer and needed to use 3.1, so I set up bootcamp on my mac and purchased windows xp. Now that 3.12 is about to come out, I would like to get rid of the bootcamp partition on my harddrive and run ZBrush on OSX. Does the free upgrade to 3.12 apply to people like me or is it only for people who have been running ZBrush 2 on their macs? I hope I don't have to pay the full amount again-- especially since I had to purchase windows xp just to run ZBrush 3.1.

Hi jhesser, I see you typed:

"I hope I don't have to pay the full amount again-- especially since I had to purchase windows xp just to run ZBrush 3.1."

So I say, maybe you missed:

"All registered users of the current version, including those who purchase between now and the release of
ZBrush 3.12 will receive the new version as a free upgrade."

I bought my Mac Pro just for ZB. I probably would have used my G5 for another 4 years.

Probably the new ZB version cannot be installed because it duplicates existing Apple functionality somewhere....
