    Default Grimm Tales

I have been lurking around these forums for a couple of years now and I thought it was about time that I actually post some of my own work.

I am a recent undergrad from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY receiving my BFA in Computer Graphics and currently in that "fun" phase of looking for work. I have been using Zbrush for about 9 months now.

I figured I would post work from my Senior Project that I completed about 4 months ago but just recently decided to re-render. All models were base meshed in MAYA before heading into Zbrush and were textured using Zapplink.

For the renders I decided not to go with photorealism but more of a stylized hyper-realism

Hopefully in a few years once I evolve more in my art work (and finally purcharse a wacom tablet) I will produce some top row work. Anyways I hope you at least get some enjoyment from these images.

Blick (anatomy got a little bit funky when I posed him, probably should have posed him before I went further on it)

Snorrason Tapth-Jerte (also should have posed before working on muscle structure but not as bad as Blick fortunately. Also used to be holding a baby bird in his hand)

I hope that a few people out there enjoyed the images.

Also if you would like to see a turntable for each one or a brief making of a render (all with cool music!) you can view it at my website:

Got bored recently and decided I'd work on a hand for fun and I figured it wasn't worth creating a new thread for it

You've got some really good detail going on but your proportions are a bit off. Really try to get that initial shape right before going crazy with the subtleties. Reference!

Thanks for the reply. For the proportions are you talking about the characters or the hand, or both.

I have been thinking about completely redoing the characters as I didn't get to put in as much time into them as I would have liked (especially into posing and re-adjusting anatomy afterwards).
