Here's what I worked on for the May video of Monthly ZBrush Training (if interested in signing up, just go to my ZBrush Training page and see all the info there)
Rough blocking from a very crude zsphere/zsketch mesh - approx 95 min. Still very rough but there's something coming through! Hands and feet haven't been touched yet and the legs were barely worked over at this point.

Here's the 3 min sample from the original 95 min 1024x460 video:
Latest progress on my cghub challenge entry. Pretty much just been focusing on the torso, shoulder armor, and straps at this point. Hope I can finish this thing on time!

The latest MZT video is done! I go into how to approach blocking in hands and feet. Also we discuss some things on how to make them believable but still unique to the character. Then it all gets wrapped up with some overall design adjustment. Check out the sample to get a glimpse. If interested, sign up at the link on my signature.

Man it's been over a month since I've posted anything. crazy. I just finished wrapping on some cool stuff here at work so I'll post that once it's ok....
for now, here's the update on the character I've been working on for my Monthly ZBrush Training. I've started to get into the design detail and finding a personality which is really one of the most exciting parts of the process imo.
I'll get a short clip of the training video posted soon.

Finally able to show some of the work stuff I've been doing lately!
This is Jerry Jones, owner of the NFL Dallas Cowboys, outfitted in a special video game suit designed for a local commercial animation created by my studio, Green Grass Studios. I created this render for our marketing purposes.
Justin Wyatt created the base hard surface modeling in 3ds max from my initial concept design which I then took over to ZB to detail the surfaces with tons of dents, scratches, chipping, etc. Jerry's head was also of course sculpted in ZB by looking at photo references. His face textures were handpainted with Polypaint and not projected from images. All rendered in Vray and then comp'd in Photoshop.
