mestophales: check that link I put up. It's in there somewhere.

hosch: thanks man! Yeah, hard work is an understatement. Lots of motivation. So many great artists out there in the world to look up to. Oh, and my pleasure on the lessons - it's fun to help....

mutte696: thanks dude. I wish the girl's face wasn't so wide but I'm having to match an existing face. Once I finish, I'll try to post more pics.

Here's more of the challenge stuff - worked on the head for a little bit longer:

Ok, a bit more done today over lunch. Worked on getting some detail laid in, particularly around the mouth. Man, this is fun!

Plans are to continue detailing the head to spark the personality and then carry onward with the rest of the body. Need to lay in armor forms so I know which parts of the skin will be visible....the to-do list is growing...

As I said on CGHub -- great start. You`re pretty fast, whew! I like the way you did all the wrinkles around the mouth/nose. Can`t wait to see the next update.
    Good luck!

More face work today. Gonna add the stitches to the cranium next and then move on to the rest of the body work and assembling armor...

Default armor, armor, and more armor

My gosh - so many accessories to model up! Still working on getting all the other pieces like the spikes, weapons, chainmail, clothbits, etc. I'm anxious to get into sculpting mode but I know this phase is important with getting all the pieces laid out. I'm going to sculpt him out first and then do the pose I think. Now, if I can just find more time....

A quick screengrab of that lady I've been cranking on at work. Here she is in a medical scrubs shirt.

    Hey Jesse,

Been following your posts...and been loving the work, but it finally popped out at me...I'm not sure about her neck...it looks a little odd? Like it bends in too much down where the neck meets the collar? (However, this may be a moot point depending on what you're using for reference)

It also may be the lighting but the left (our left) cheek and lips seem a touch flat.

I do like the colors and the painterly approach. Also, love the fact that she's an everyday woman. Also really like the determined look on her face.

    Keep it up.

In my experience, it is the "clients" that pay the least that are the most demanding and least appreciative - when they start talking about "ownership" is when I normally tune them out - its their project, not mine - I am just the delivery method - would rather work on my own projects in most cases ...

hey hosch - love your last statement there. I'd much rather work on my own projects too. Can't help but feel abused with the free stuff...

Hey - been working on the torso stuff...still have more work to do but I thought it'd be good to show where I'm at. Lots of things on the torso begging for detail! More to come...
