    hey there.

many many thanks twitchmonkey!!! your reply was very helpful!!

    for today i am done...
i have massive problems... it is not real fun to sculpt him....

i think his breasts work much better now, but the fat doesn't.... but let me know what you think...

maybe i'll work on him tomorrow... maybe never again ^^
maybe i'll just restart the refining.

I think you should smooth the fat. It doesn´t look soft and wobbly at the moment.
And I think the ankles are too broad -- even for this guy. They don´t fit to his thin legs. Looks like they are swollen.
Other than that -- I like the pose and good work on his "throne".

    hey moni.

many thanks! i am working on the feet and the knees right now... but its the most difficult area for me!

i fattened the legs up! and i am not sure about the cigar and the chair... i had to change the proportions... i want his feet hanging.... i don't think such a guy would move a lot....

anyway, i think i understood roughly how fat works on a body.
after this majos step its fun again sculpting him

edit: i just saw the legs are too thin. (to close to the chair).... i change that right now!
but for the feet and knees i would appreciate every helpful reply.
.... well, every reply is appreciated!

edit2: yesterday three stars... today just two? i dunno, but i think stars for a sketchbook-thread suck! and anonymous rating sux, too!...
anyway, this won't stop me posting!!! pah!

    further work on my buddy!

i think the rough sculpting-process is nearly done. all done inside zbrush.

about the knees and the feet i don't know if they will stay like that.
the rest is ok i think.

i'll see tomorrow what i'll do with it.

and i bet you already know which book he is reading?

Paradise Lost? Dante's Inferno? TV Guide?

Looking much better, I think a little more smoothing in some areas would be good, but overall, it's looking good.

Hi Wethand! The updates on the new sculpt are lookin' good! I'm glad you take the time to post the consecutive updates and give us a glimpse of how you work and study.

I am going to send you some useable ref pics of peoble with more bodyfat, but I can't find the book right now. Will try tomorrow.
What do you mean, 2 stars? I see 3 .

Imho there are only two votes for sketchbook/Wip threads: 5 stars or no vote. There should be a system that allows us to alter or place multiple votes which can be placed on thread post numbers. We should be able to see the name behind the vote... .

So, you got my five stars for the great works in your thread, for having the guts to post WIP shots and for takingthe time to actually participate in ZBC! !

Looking forward to more WIP stuff!

    damn etcher,

many many thanks for your very nice reply!!

i didn't want to cry after stars.... but it was a little bit demotivating in the moment i saw it...
yeah, your logic is cool! multiple votes depending on the number of the author-posts.

thank you so much for pushing my rating! =) and don't stress yourself because of the ref-pics.

i hope i don't bother you guys with my updates.
some further work on the devil....

    Looks good wethand!
I like the folds of the chair and his stomache looks much better now.
If I may offer a critique -- you should work more on the feet.
    ( LOL.. I shouldn´t say a word about feet and hands )
They look a little too fat/round. But maybe feet of fat people look like that?
I hope Etcher will find his book soon.
He seems to have an own library at home -- that´s awesome!
    Keep on posting. Great progress!

Hi Wethand! Couldn't get the book yet: it's not mine, I borrowed it from the public library last year, went to the library today, but someone else had it ! Problem is, don't remember title or artist ! So can't even look it up in the computer... . Anyways, I'm gonna pay regular visits to the library and I'll post as soon as I can get my hands on it cause you're gonna' love it!

Update's ok! Might wanna' make his fingers a bit more puffy. The fat on his left lower arm could have a bit more gravity pulling on it.

    See ya!

This is coming along nicely. Keep it up!

I can see where you're going with his expression and pose now, and I like it. I can still see a completely different emotion with the same expression and the figure standing though.

Oh, and I wouldn't pay any attention to the star-rating - it appears to be a completely useless feature at ZBrushcentral that often has no relevance to the respective content. I ignore the stars now - wish there was an option to turn them off as I find them subliminally distracting when perusing thread listings. Anonymous unqualified voting leaves it too open to abuse, even here where petty squabbles and flaming are much less prevalent than on any other forum I've witnessed.

    hey there guys,

a little update. i think the modeling-part of the guy is done.... the feet still suck, but i don't get them look correctly. i think, it is ok.

of course he will get some new horns, this are only placeholders.

i detailed the chair a little bit and thought about the scene.

and the texturing.... hell, i dunno what to do.... i'll see tomorrow or the day after ^^
i hope i'll finish this piece. i like this guy.... and i hope i'll reach this time the quality, i am after!
but at first: finish the sculpting... i never can wait with the texturing, so you see my first color-layer on him....

I'm loving the sculpt. Not sure I like it with the rock wall as much, it doesn't really seem very balanced, but you've really got his fat folds down.

Fun! I think the lower part of the body need more work. The relation between the legs and the belly is a bit strange.

Man I've read trhough your thread from beginning to end , and man... what a hell of a progress! It's mind blowing
    Congratulations!

On the latest pic I think the feet need more work
Alsa the cave background looks like too much too me. It drags the attention out of your character.
    Keep it up !
