who have got a lovely portfolio I really like your work. its nice to see that you have gone back to the female model.

what did you do the hair in. also what software you you rendered this in. I really like the specular on the for head it looks very natural.

keep up the good work. can wait to see more.

Rampage and the girl are looking very nice. Her hair strands are way too thick but the style and shape looks cool

hmm. She looks like a mannequin to me. May be the textures. I am assuming you are still tweaking the hair? How are paint effects working out for ya?

brettSinclair - Thanks man... yea - i haven't as yet decided on exactly what I want to do for the environment... so I'll work out what's reflecting once I get a good concept of that. Also still have a few more tweaks to do with the eyes, skin, etc... so still working on it...

cherub_rock - thanks - The nose is intentionally like that - it was taken from one of the reference pics I used for this model... her nose had that distinguishing feature... it might be a bit strong i admit though - but the purpose wasn't to create the perfect girl...
I appreciate the comment tho - I'll maybe try softening it up a bit and see how that works out.

dustbin1_uk - thanks. Yep - still working on the spec map... so that'll be addressed soon hopefully.

Ashleysparling - thanks. The hair is just Maya paintFX hair.

Captain Sensible - thanks man... yea - the hair renders take a bit - so i reduce the count and up the thickness just for preview purposes - the final render will have the hair at the right thickness and count....

    Etcher - thanks man

nightwalker_j - yep still tweaking... this isnt the final lighting either - just what i'm using right now as i setup things and tweak... the flat lighting helps to better see what's going on for me with textures, etc... but yea - doesnt look very real i know...
I'm planning something a bit more dramatic with the lighting...

    ----------------------

Hey everyone... thanks for the comments...

Here's an update on rampage... finally got him back into zbrush... so gonna start working on final details and refining the sculpt this weekend... (this is just the imported mesh... so lots of corrections and detailing to be done still).

    More updates soon...

Now this is what I'm talking about, great update Thad!!
The arm without the piston is looking so much better the details are lovingly rendered and everything in the Rampage mesh looks so tight... how do you do that? (my ZBrush wip meshes are so bumpy and messy-looking )
The girl is turning out lovely as well ...the hairstyle works pretty well plus the textures for the skin looks a-freaking-mazing!..... remind me when we meet at Siggraph to beat you up AFTER you have shown me what's your set up for her skin shader, alright coconut breath?
    Keep up the great work!

    sgrell - thanks

Felice'sWorkshop - LOL Spaghetti head... thanks man.

    nightwalker_j - thanks.

    Nattawat_OBBI - thanks

    dustbin1_uk - thanks!

Wow - thanks everyone for the awesome feedback... Well - i finished up the high rez sculpt today... (Had some problems - my desktop workstation primary boot drive died... so working off my laptop now... so my pace is considerable slower now... - hopefully i can get the desktop up and running again soon... but doesn't look good for in time for SIGGRAPH... might not finish the new reel in time... oh well...)

I'm working on building the in game mesh now... so I'll hopefully have an update with that soon... the girl is on hold as that project was on my desktop... argh!
I'll see what i can do before SIGGRAPH - i was really hoping to have these 2 characters done in time... sigh. I hate technology sometimes... hehe

Anyways - looking forward to your comments as usual!

    rampage34.jpg
Used Decimation Master to bring down the poly count to make it more manageable... I love that plugin!!! The original HighPoly was over 50million - now it's just 3mil and the detail still holds up!

Also lookin forward to making the in game mesh - this will be the first next-gen type character for me... so shud be an adventure... haha

    Thanks.

Yeah, looking great. I think you should add more crinkles into the pants. I find that the cloth is not a detailed as his skin. I use a cloth alpha to get that un ironed look.
