    Post ZSphere to Obj

    Hi,
I am new to ZBrush and am trying to work this out.

    I am using a registered ZBrush 1.55b.

I have modeled an object using the excellent ZSphere tool. Now I want to export it in Obj format so I can animate it in Maya.

I cannot find the "select object"->"export" option, I can export the other objects from the "inventory"->export option but cannot do it for a Zphere object

My ZSphere is registered so there is I should have an option.

Hi Johnny and welcome aboard. ZSpheres themselves can not be exported. However you can skin it and then export the skinned object.
I hangout regularly at www.zbrushhangout.com, you can catch me there working on something quite regularly.

What you would do is after creating the ZSphere model press Tool>Inventory>Make Unified Skin or Make Adaptive Skin. This creates a new tool in your Tool palette, which is the skinned model. Simply select that tool, and you will then be able to export the mesh.

There is more information in the manual and the Quick Reference Guide about the two skinning options and their modifiers.
