Default Need a crit on a famous face

    Final Image

    updateMar.jpg

Okay- getting a likeness isn't easy for me. I really need more then one set of eyes looking at this image. I'm still just working on the face, the hair is only blocked in and will give the hair more attention after I think the face is at a good point. I'm not mentioning who this is- if you can't tell, then I really haven't done my job or you didn't watch sci-fi movies during the 70's or 80's.

Let me know what you think

i know who it is, but the hairstyle gives it away

i think its pretty much like her, maybe it could be more like her but
i personally couldnt get it closer, so it looks good enough to me.

Even though the hair gives it away, you can see her likeness quite well in the face. If you want crit, I would say that the section of her hair that is not in the buns is too full. Her hair is pulled tight, so should conform more to the shape of her head. Aside from that, I wouldn't change a thing.

    Default Dying for a critique

No crits? What, do I smell or something? I know you want to tell me how crappy this work is. Here- I'll help you out- I'm looking at it now and I'm thinking that the top of the head need to come up a bit maybe, and I think I will re-check the length of the chin. I've even included some images that will help for the comparison. Now its your turn- please help me out.

BTW- I posted this and then saw several new crits- I knew I didn't smell, thanks guys

The top of her head in the reference pics posted above seems to be a bit more cone shaped than your model and her eyes have deaper creases, though that will probably come later. The lower half of the face looks pretty much dead on mate, nice work!

Really nice start overall. I looked at the images in photoshop and if anything it seems like the feature may be slightly large and the mass of the back of the skull seems slightly small. Both of those things lead me to beleive you may be right and the perspective may be distorting the head a little too much. I'd also make sure that the ears are figured into the hair mass. It seems that the hair right now is a bit to tight if you eliminate the buns. Again though... this can be a perspective thing. Its possible that the jaw is a little too square for the 18 year old carrie fisher as well. She was a bit rounder back then.

    Default crit

I would take a closer look at her eyes - especially her lower eyelid shape. the jaw part into her neck seems a little too skiney. That might be perspective...

Thanks everyone for your crits (yep- slosh, I did miss yours the first time, sorry about that, and thank you for your crit). Lots of great points made- I think this will help for the next update. I'm working on some hands now as well.

Default Princess Leia needs more critiques

Some more work done on the face- fattened her up a little and worked proportions. Gave her some eyes to bring her to life. Still no hair (I know- I know- it needs work- but please comment on the proportions of the buns and hair). I got the gun done (post soon) and I've started the hands- but I my focus is the face. After looking at the image I noticed the side view shows that the slope of the nose bridge looks off (where it joins to the forehead). Please keep the critiques coming, you are my only hope.

    quite good so far
I think you should decrease distance between upper lip and nose a bit and increase the eyeballs a bit

Looks like her but the actor's face is a bit wider (or maybe just her cheeks are). Cool work!
