    Default darkling retake

    programs used
    base: sketch up
    getting serious: zbrush
Inspiration: topcow "thedarkness" comics art (i say inspired as a lose term....basicly i'm not as good as the artist and this is kinda a cheap knock off )
can't remember the name of the artist so if some one recognices the "darkling" than by all means let me know, so i can credit where credit is due

still need to detail some more and maybe colour...and a rock for it to sit on.
so love it or hate it, don't be shy
    Regards,
    the weekend zbrusher

The first thing I thought of when I saw the teeth was The Darkness, so well done.

i'm lookin' forward to seein' this progress.

    hi strict
thx for ur comments but i have a question how did u make the wings. I mean u didn't do ur basemesh in zbrush so were did u do it and how did u do the wings? They look so thin, like paper.

the wings i did in sketchup (all my base mashes...haven't got anything else)

i made a wavey (lots of curves like a colourbond roof) line.
gave it a offset (offset of allmost nothing to make it really thin) to duplicate and connected all the dots from on side to the other to make squares.
extruded the lot to give it hight........now i pretty much have a steel roof panel with uneven curves.
loaded it up in Z and used the tweak tool and move tool to jank the bits in to place.
    hope i explained it,
    Baz

okay that paint wasn't that great.....time to move a way from the concept blue...and do a retake on color.
hope this improves the caracter abit more...or should i stick to just modeling

I'd personally bring more of the blue in. The texturing is a lot better now, but I just think adding in some more blue would make it stand out more.
