Beautiful piece ......
i love the way the feathers are done...
thanks for the wip images... insight into a master's workflow...
Thanks, everyone! Here's an illustration that didn't take as long as some of the others as only the face and clouds were done in ZBrush, the rays and background were just Photoshop.

Refreshing illustration. I'm suddenly craving raisins.
Regarding Digital Art.
"So let me get this straight. I no longer need to watch paint dry, no more toxic chemicals or ruined clothing by a rogue globule of Alizarin Crimson? No longer will be punished for experimentation by ruining my work? I can take forms and colors and patterns and rearrange them at will upon my canvas. Easily upload and have my work seen by a vast global audience? BASICALLY, I can take what ever I can imagine and make it manifest?"
"Yes, but you'll be shunned by the "Artistic World"
"Cool, Where do I sign?"

wow! very eye-catching image.
i love your other works, too.
your pictures are beautiful!
It's a beautiful illustration, it may not have taken you as much as other artworks but still it took you all life to know what you know, and it shows (I think it was Picasso that said something along these lines to a client that criticized him for charging a lot of money for a 1 minute sketch).

masara, thank you!
maxinkuk, thanks!
Paint Guy, thanks! The sun rays were just painted in Photoshop. Then I used the bevel layer effect to add the highlights around the edges.
I have a couple new illustrations I've been working on. This is the first, the other (another snowman design) will be finished in the next day or two.
Rendered in ZBrush, postwork in Photoshop.
