    Default Zketches

Just wanted to start my own sketch thread so I can practice and get better.

Played with this guy a little under 2 hours:

    (I need to get faster!)

    Harley is angry.

About 3 and a half hours... reused some eyes, teeth, and bells I had made. Had to spend some time wrestling with local subdivision. Expression was tough too.

Started a happy Mr. J... Just a little over an hour so far... might spend more time on him.

Spent about another hour and a half on Mister J...

His happy side. Too often see his evil side. Probably worse to see his happy side.

Great sculpts! I like how you showed the lowpoly too in some. My question would be, what shape do you start with usually on a head sculpt? I remember there was actually a couple of threads way back that included the tlillehoff sphere. I guess I was also wondering if you used any of those methods, or something you came up with yourself. Of course, with HD geometry possibilities and topology tools, that's probably not even so important anymore is it?

Lumin8: Thank you! Right now I'm trying not to obsess about topology. All but Harley are sculpted from a Polysphere. With Harley I just made a quick base with Zspheres and locally subdivided the face area, nothing special.

    piz: Thanks again!

    Lil-sister: Thanks! Your stuff rocks.

Spent a long time experimenting with hard edge techniques. Not sure if it was really worth attempting. Need to practice and experiment more...
Polysphere again... 3 and 1/2 hours playing around.

Very Good Transformer! How you did it? Had you exported in Maya or Max for edge retouch? Or you built it in Z?

    Anyway
