Post Krek: creature - having a lot fun with this one :)

Hey all, here is my lastest project. I started this guy 2 nights ago, did a few drawings then got right to it. The body is almost an over evolved humanoid but animalistic. He's going to have pulled loose flesh on the underside with hard shell plating on the top.

    Hi,
I like your design: a bit of lizard, a bit of tiger/dinosaur, a bit of human...
Especially, I like the head and the "shell" part.
Ok, now, I'm not a pro, but i think you have to work to some parts, because my english is poor, I have used one of your images to show you where there's something not clear IMHO. So take my consideration at the light.
    Anyway, it's a good work.

the dust: thanks for the comments i agree with those. some parts went funny when I subdivided this model. There is a few more areas that need structural attention aswell that you didn't state there. I'm getting the shell parts on first then im going to sculpt the skin part after. As for the hump on his back its ment to be a hump in the back and not the scapula jutting up. I'll see if i can make that more clear with the model.

omar kichi: thanks for the comment i agree the neck is a bit straight but i'll be adjusting that along with all the shapes and proportions when i sculpt it. I find it alot faster to fine tune all that stuff in zbrush then pullin verts in max.

here is a shot of the first shell piece. Need to do same thing with the legs and arms. Smaller chunks = I lose less work if it crashes .

    thanks threetails

heres all the plating done. all teh rest is fleshing goodness. This guy is designed to crumple into a ball onto the ground if he was attacked, kinda like a turtle.

Love the pose! The fluid gesture makes it fun to look at, and much more believable as a living breathing thing. Nice work on the "armor" scales so far, too =]
