Default New Sketchbook Settings for Z3

    Heya folks,

Here is a new setting for 50's Kid's Sketchbook material for ZBrush 3. The old ZBrush 2 material wasn't looking so well in ZB3, so I made a new one.

It's good for taking a model and making it look like it was rendered in pencil.

There are 2 materials. The first is the Paper material. Just fill a background layer with this using white as a start.

Then drop your model on a new layer OVER the paper. Use the included No. 2 pencil material on the model.

Hit render and don't use shadows and your work will look like pencil. It's a quick render too...

    Here is an example image:

Now get to work and post your results...

Even better news! I replicated the look of ZB2's Sketchbook even better...

Load up the enclosed .doc file, Resize to full screen, hit ctrl n to clear the screen and just load up a model. It looks just like the good sketchbook settings from Z2.

If you like the materials, don't forget to resave the document as a full size file, so you can play anytime.

    Enjoy!

Here's an updated pencil and paper material. This one has really nice contrast and seems to work with a nice variety of models.

Try her out and post those results...

Mario: Those pencil images are looking good! The second one just has me busting up... I'm still trying out all the new features of Z3. It's a whole new world...

    Guti: You're welcome...

Lemo: Really cool to see it working with color! I still gotta play with some Zeeble...

    Drakelot: Anytime!

5 by 1: Thank you, I still have a ways to go in anatomy...

Rich! Thank YOU for writing this in the first place!!! I have so much fun with this material. Without your foresight in designing this, we'd still just have regular rendering to deal with...
