    Default Me (not finished)

Hi, I'm trying to remake my self portrait, I've started it this morning.

This is not finished but it already looks like me.

    Default Personal Challenge

Everyones work is looking so good! My work is and always has been very cartoony, so stuff like this is a challenge for me!

I have set myself a personal challenge to model portriats of my entire family!

Something that I think will become more valuable as they grow older and potentially something that could be redone every few years.

I may start my own thread when I get this underway!

    Default My ugly mug

Hey there everybody, there are some great pieces here. Thought I would through my mug up and get some crits. This one is still a wip, but with three boys to look after it can be a pain sometimes to do some work. Keep up the good work everybody.

Darktimax - a very strong self portrait - the sense of concentration and observation really comes through. You have the look of Brian Eno in his Roxy Music days.

Hummboxx - great start and hopefully you'll post up the finished version when time allows perhaps in the wee small hours when the kids are finally asleep.

    Default Worth a shot!

My first draft of my only head. You don't know what I look like (unless you've bin to my site), but my wife says it really looks like me - on a good day! Fortunately I got no hair, makes it a whole lot easier! This is the third 3D model I've ever gotten this far with. In April I'd never made a model of any kind (except with clay or marble). I could never have gotten to this stage in Max or Maya, I tried 'em, after a month I'd made a very nice ball. This thing is 4/5ths of the way to being as easy as real clay, in some ways it's easier.

Now I just gotta learn texturing etc.

Since i'm quite new to zbrush i thought this challange would be nice to take up as a first project, and a good way to get to learn the zbrush tools.

I must admit it took a bit longer than I had anticipated, but then again it was a learning process, and zbrush is quite different from max and other 3d programs.

First i start of with a basic head model

    2.jpg

Apply some smoothing and minor adjustments

    4.jpg

    More adjustments

    5.jpg

    Then a small color-check

    6.jpg

Now the foundation for the project is completed. Time for some texture.

    7.jpg

    8.jpg

I continue by doing som rather extensive adjustments. Making sure the shape of the headshape/cheeks/chin etc. is as close to real life as possible.

    9.jpg

    10.jpg

I finish off by polishing a bit here and there, adding eyes and that's about it.

    11.jpg

    12.jpg

To all the ppl out there I'm sorry it's actually not bad graphis... I am that ugly

Here's another go at moi - this time more like it.
One gets a stronger sense of the limited scottish genepool with this attempt.
My last foray was way to greek god
Hope more of you give it a go
herebi2.jpg[/QUOTE] scottish? more north, sir - excellent portrait!

wow. cool thread. I'll give it a try when I get time. Oh, almost forgot. Someone was asking about hair. I believe this is one of the best ways, at least that I've seen in zb ...and even though it's an older z2 script. I use this method a lot. Maybe too many polys for use in other progs though. not sure http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=4666&highlight=hair+script
