    Default ZBrush/Lightwave caveman

    caveman_web200.jpg

    So...i figured it's about time to get into this little thing called zbrush :-)
    Being a LW guy for years, I cringed at learning a new program. But after a self imposed 3 week crash DVD course. I think I found my way around it..at least to say I have "working knowledge" ;-)

    The mesh was an unfinished LW model, but thought the caveman would be a great subject for lots o' ugly zbrush bumps and details.
    Overall I was pretty happy w/ it. The hair was done in PS since to get CG hair the way i want it takes time..and this was only going to be a single render. (and i have other paying job).

    Anyhow! great program..and easy to get after a while. Though there are some techniques I've seen that I have no idea how to do yet.
    Thanks for viewing.

    love it!!

    by the way have you been following the recent cave men ads by Geico? - very funny indeed.

    Nice modeling and I like the painterly look the PS hair gives the composition.

    Thanks guys

    Wammer..i would love to animate him...but to do good facial anmiation takes alot of set up..and it's not worth the time for a short animation. Especially when I have a paid job behind it that needs to be animated.
    But yeah..i would have loved to had a reason to animate him

    Thumbs up Love it!!!

    Pete ... firstly let me say FANTASTIC JOB!

    If you, or anyone else that can do this quality of work, could you please get in touch, I would like to get some stills of this or a similar character for a logo for my *small* business.

    I will be upfront.. there ain't much money in it for you because I am not even off the ground yet, and on an extremely limited budget with the dregs of my IT job severence money, but if you enjoy playing with the character and changing his expressions and making jpg stills, you get some $$ at least (which I have always found better than doing it for free...).
    Who knows.. if it takes off we may both get famous too.... Worked for Geico!

    hehehe....

    Please email richard at atlrent dott com and let me know what you can do for price.

    Default lw user

    Hello I'm also a Lw user and I was wondering how you did it?
    Did you used Displacement mapping? And how did you put the bumps and text back to lay out?
    this is what I made from it.
    Model=LW
    render=Z
