I'm in the process of Unwrapping at the minute. I have decided to split the model up into sections so I get some detailed work done in Z-Brush. The section I am unwrapping is the head and torso (ending below the rib cage and at the elbow) and I was just wondering, once I have unwrapped, should I collapse the modifier into the stack? The UV's will be retained, right? Can I then smooth it once and collapse that in too, and export that mesh while not saving the scene file so I still have the low poly? Because when I take the lowpoly in to Z-Brush and smooth, I lose all the definition I've modelled in Max because they smooth different.

So what I would like to do is smooth the model, collapse it into the stack, export the .OBJ but not save the scene file so I retain the low poly without a subdivision collapsed in so I can still put the displacement and normal map on the low poly later, and smooth for the render.

Once, I am in Z-Brush, how do I let the program now that the model has UV's assigned? What do I do after that? Do I have to hit New -> Texture?
