excelent Scott!!! itīs great!
Really like the colors
This is looking really good.
Fab sculpt !
There is a really nice tension in the muscles, and a nice 'weight' to the skin.
+ a really subtle expression, that gives loads of character
The texturing is awesome !
Look forward to seeing the final renders.![]()
looking good scott! i saw the little thumbnail on the top and somehow knew that this was one of your creations. i like the creature design and the paint job is really nice. have you considered taking a little bit of of that tight contrasty color detail that you have in the face and carry it through into the lower neck and collar bone area? keep those great images comin' mahh!!!!
Nice work Scott. Best way to paint anything by the way. So why does this fella look like you? Slap some glasses on him will ya? Uncanny resemblance... Ha, that'll get 'em all to Google like crazy!![]()

'Obey me! I am ROOT!'
I think we all subconsciously include some of ourselves in our work.....does this mean Jason looks like a Zsphere?
Great model Scott.
Scott,
Glad I didn't miss this one. Very cool!
Nice character and detail work. The coloring is very good as well.
Good too see more of your work Scott!
Nicely done.![]()

Excellent stuff! I really like the variations in skin temperature to add depth. If this is preliminary, I can't wait for the "proper render"! Just awesome!
Looks wonderful....and I like what ya did with the ears
The coloring is great. He reminds me kind of a cranky
old professor or something. Can't wait to see your final
render on him.
Awesome texture work![]()

Excellent texture-work, Scott - you've definitely managed to achieve a very sound sense of translucency to the skin here
(without labouring the point by making it over-photoreal);
the slight exaggeration to the contrast in the hues you've painted help immensely in bringing this guy to life
Can't wait to see the final renders
Chris
Hi Everyone! Thanks for the replies : ) Im still trying to to get SSS working in MR with the help of a friend. Hopefully I can update tomorrow.
Atwooki: Thanks man, im glad you like it!!
Blaine91555: Cheers man Thanks!
aminuts He is actually a self portrait (eyes Jason) just kidding : )
Mr.Monster Thanks Brian! I took my inspiration for he paint technique by gathering second hand details on how one of my favorite painters works. A former co-worker of yours actuallyI figured it made sense to try and paint in ZBrush how people paint with an airbrush...Incidently,
The maps are reacting very interstingly on SSS.
Ricardo: Thanks man, The more I test render the more I see how flat the neck is.. I need to revisit that. (maaa!)
SS810:Thanks. I was hoping a sense of weight might come across.
Well of to listen to the next Dark Tower book on tape and test some more. I need to finish this soon or work proper is going to catch up to me![]()
thanks again everyone. Updates soon I promise!
