    Default Space Face

The Space Face was my first work in ZBrush. I created it from a sphere (didn't know about Zspheres at that time) and worked on it for a few hours.

This place is awesome - I've been modelling environments and props full time for 12 years and wanted to try stuff a bit mre curvy heheh...bought some Super Sculpey first, had a play round then got the ZB demo. Into my second week and loving it, like a kid in a candy store. Just waiting on a payment for some freelance stuff and i'm slapping my money down for this awesome piece of kit.

Looked at ZB many many years ago and thought "wha?" wish I'd persevered.

Heres my first model...i did a tutorial skull first tbh but I'd prefer to show my first attempt at making something for myself so really this is my second model....sorry.

This model isnt finished yet, its based on a photo of Bill Burroughs so I want to get some real aging in there. I tried out the topology stuff last night and want to try the poly painting as that looks very fun indeed.

I'm really finding the Scott Spencer and Eric Keller books incredibly useful, thoroughly recommend both of them!

This was my first one, was based of the Locusts from Gears of War, I have to go back to it and fix some stuff up once I get some newer stuff done. Cool to see the concept artist for Marcus here Gears was awesome cant wait for the sequel.

I dont think I had the normals all working properly gotta fix some of them and make displacments.

Nice start two pinacoladas. He feels a bit puny for a Locust though. He's got some anatomy problems though. Bulk him up big time.
I cant wait for the second game too. The latest gameply footage looked sick. If you're really into Gears and 3D modeling, I highly recommend the d'artiste Character Modeling 2 book. Its got a breakdown of the whole character creation workflow.
When you start to think of what everything around you would look like in wireframe, does that mean you have problems?

    Default First work in Zbrush

Hey, had Zbrush since 1 now have 3 and finally opened it up and did something with it! I did a sketch of my son as a Draenei child and used a bronze shader that really sells it.

Well, guys, here's my very first work in ZBrush. I hope some of you like it, and that you can give me some advice about finishing this model. After all, it is still a WIP. The first problem I have are the teeth and the alpha I will use on the horns.

Lots of greetings from sunny Croatia. Enjoy the summer.

P.S. This head model is being done with a mouse, as I am waiting for my tablet to arrive.

I modelled the body more off a body builder style, i think my normals are messed up and if i had displacements he would probably have a little more bulk. Tho he is skinny compared to the ones in the game.

My friend has that Character Modelling 2 book they have a really good workflow theres a lot of good stuff in it. I'd like to figure out how to do hair with alphas as well so much stuff to learn so little time. I did a model of Marcus but i rushed it to much, i'd like to go back and re texture it. lots of its bland and not very detailed it was a model I did before the locust that i never got to texturing. Maybe I'll post it in the second zbrush thread...
