Default Credit due to Digital Tutors all around!

Yes yes, I owe much to Digital Tutors! I didn't mean to take anything from them. What actually happened is that my own personal image didn't show up in my last post, so if you go to my website, you'll see some exercise samples I've made by following some of the Digital Tutors tutorials. (They are highly recommended, by the way!) But those will be taken down once I have my own portfolio, of course. Sorry if anyone thought I was trying to be sneaky!

I'll try to post the picture I intended to show here in my first post... RegRender2.jpg

Im not trying to be anal or nitpick, its just people around here are very serious about that kinda stuff. Some people have had their work stolen & used on other sites. Ive even seen people in this forum claim they've modeled something, only to be completely disproved & called out by the original artist. Plagerism can just get ugly around here.
When you start to think of what everything around you would look like in wireframe, does that mean you have problems?

Plagiarism (and I'll spell it correctly for you,) is a strong word to have associated with my first venture into the ZBrush community. I would consider it a complement to Digital Tutors that their iconic tutorials are so much a part of the digital art world that some of us may not have thought it always necessary to credit the source. Like seeing someone paint themselves a Mona Lisda or something -- you don't assume they are trying to pass it off as their own original. I do see your point, and I concede that in hindsight it would have been nice for me to include credit to Digital Tutors in my *personal* website. That will be rectified. But I never posted anything from Digital Tutors in this forum, nor have I ever posted anything here that was not 100% of my own creation, aside from the use of a loose concept sketch drawn for me by my girlfriend, with her permission, for me to create this female character in 3D. (Thanks again Erin!) And it was her idea for me to post here, but now I'm not feeling so welcome in this community.

I do take plagiarism VERY seriously, as well as the implication that I may have done so. If anyone else comes across this thread, and you feel that I am in the wrong for any reason, please add any thoughts you may have. I'm hoping my initial "welcome" to this community won't be an example of the rest of my time spent here trying to interact with fellow artists.

By the way XxDarkMessiahxX, last I checked, you didn't credit the sources for those inspiration pics you've borrowed for your own Pumkinhead posting. That may be good form, considering the issue you're arguing.

First off, Im not turning this into an argument thread, and I apologize if it came across as though I was acusing you of plagiarism (thanks for the correct spelling) And it was definately not my intention to make you feel unwelcomed here either.

Dont get me wrong, I love Digital Tutors. Ive got 20+ videos from their Maya & ZBrush collections. Ive just seen people around here post models and try to take credit for models they've taken right off a DT CD.

As for my Pumpkinhead thread, I feel that images Im using for reference are hardly relevant, considering the only thing Im claiming as my own is the model that built from scratch. In all honesty though, I'll include google as a refrence if anyone feels it's necessary.

Sorry for any misunderstanding & welcome to the community.

    Default Dusty doodles

Nice one; a let's-not-take-ourselves-so-seriously-thread. *digs deep in dusty folders* Not sure which one was my first "work", but it's got to be one of these:

    Spheres:

    Clip_2.jpg

    "Deaf, dumb and blind"

    Clip_6.jpg

    Erm... "Untitled"

    Clip_3.jpg

    "Evil!"

    Zspheres:

    Clip.jpg

    "Kanga-rat-bunny"

    Projection master:

    ... on another sphere.

    Masking:

    Clip_7.jpg

Yes. I see a lot of potential in this one. A lot.

    "Wire-style":

Meats Meier, eat your heart out!

    Picologic freebee-base:

Eddie the Gangstah says: "Make your own basemeshes, muthaf*ckah!"

Which I'm doing these days and that will hopefully make for much happier pixoling than all this crap...

    Default Here's my first

Here's my first model in ZBrush: I spent a lot of time in it, but when I finished it I was very pleased of the result (it was over my expectations ).

    Goblin.jpg

Unluckily, I lost the model when my old HD died and this is the only image that I have .

Nice. When I finally get to doing my first work, I will definitely post it here.

Default See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil

My first full model and texture test.

It's far from finished in any way, shape or form and will probably end up in the bin, but I thought I'd post something to pass the time waiting for ZB3.

The idea behind it? Just something that popped in my head at the time.... a kind of mutant with no mouth, eyes or ears, hence the title "See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil"
