    Default 300 trailer.

    Hi all.
I just wanted to drop in a link to the 300 trailer.
We've just spent the better part of the past year on it.
This is an amazing group effort by everyone at Meteor Studios in Montreal.
Check out the environments, The Sparta sequences, The well, The CG wheat and The Hot Gates.
Meteor is not the only production house to have worked on this show and the trailer reflects that.
I'm just damn proud of everyone who went into the trenches and is still standing.
    Check it out.

Yes Zbrush can be used on more than just characters.

Could you tell us something about how ZBrush has been used on this?

    Absolutely stunning !

If a trailer is supposed to excite and entice you to see a movie, . .
This certainly does the job !

    Looking forward to seeing more

Hey Womball, I'm also 6'6" and weight 260 lbs... coincidence??? I think not.

    Hey Aurick.
Unfortunately most of what Zbrush was used on didn't end up in the film.
However almost everything that went through the modeling department did go through Zbrush at some point.
Even the wheat got a Zbush treatment.
Zbrush was used on the environments as well as characters.
Unfortunately it is those characters that were the worse to loose.
Them are the breaks, I'm use to it now.
So many things I've created in other films also went by the way side.
That just the life of production.
I wish more of what we did in Zbrush did end up on screen, it looked so beautiful.
But that's OK, the project I'm currently on JCE, "Journey 3D" is getting a mega Zbrush treatment.
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0373051/
Everything we are creating from the characters to the environments is getting
a whole Lotta of Zbrushing and wait for it...
It's stereoscopic! Zbrush in 3D! It looks so amazing!

Elfufu, I believe so... The Hot Gatea sequences were spread out between 3 or 4 different houses by my recollection. Either way congratulations. It looks amazing!

By the way I want to give a huge shout out to my partner in crime, Christine Leclerc, our texturing lead. She constantly amazes me with the work they pump out. Congratulations to you all on the great work!

    Cheers

I'm a foot shorter than you. I could be a townsfolk! And that Journey 3d thing sounds awfully like a movie version of Cgtalk Journey Begins entry.

Default Funny... Jules Verne will love that.

    Hey Womball.
    Jules Verne will love that!
Journey is based on his book, "Journey to the Center of the Earth".
If you've read the book you can imagine some of the really cool visuals.

we used zbrush at technicolor on a very very small piece of the 300 pie. however our role was soooooooo small on this movie its barely worth mentioning. . we worked on a sequence with Ephialtes ( the crazy ugly looking guy). (which im my opinion was very poorly executed ( not neccesserely on our part, but as a whole. some bad decisions were made ( to split up his shots between studios, and nobody shared assets. so theres 0% consistency )

but how many people can say that they made a sphere/textured it and got paid for it .
