Marvel Characters

Hey guys, this is my first post on the forums. I'm a long time artist but started teaching myself Zbrush a few weeks ago and thought i'd post a couple of my pieces, a Daredevil bust and Black Bolt. I'm a big time fan of the Bowen statues and busts, these are inspired by those. Some surface detailing on Black Bolt was done in Mudbox, but not much, and DD is all Zbrush. Base mesh and render in Max 7.

love both characters, but Black Bolt kicks major butt...ultra kewlies...one of my favs as a kid...you did the character major justice for sure.

May I ask, with such superb modeling why you didnt do a complete figure of DD? Both models rock either way

Thanks guys. Ron, I'm not sure why I only did a bust with Daredevil, I guess my goal was to somewhat replicate a Bowen bust with that one. Maybe I'll revisit the model at some point and add the lower body. Next I think I'll be modeling a female character...perhaps Mystique or Psylocke? Not sure yet. Thanks for checking out my models.

These are lovely. You`ve chosen two of my favorite characters! Black bolt gets little recognition from the fans, but I think he is a coolness match for any of the more widely popular mutants.

He just needs to work on his witty repartee!

You wouldn`t consider doing a red and yellow costume DD, would you? Wouldn`t take much work, would it?

Yeah I really like Black Bolt, I always thought he was very cool and doesn't get the attention he deserves. I wanted to model a character you never see on the forums (everyone models Wolverine). Who knows, I might do a whole Inhumans series of sculpts. I also want to model someone really huge like Thanos or Juggernaut. As fior DD I actually like the classic yellow and red uniform a lot, maybe I'll do that one for the full figure....good call Rory.

I have to say that blackbolt image is FANTASTIC and AWESOME!!! The proportions are very very close to perfect, the render and the lights are the coolest because it shows the muscles in a very comic-ish details... I have to congratulate you... very ver veery cool cool cool image

Yeah Spidey would be cool, which costume ya think? I was also thinking about the Thing, or maybe a stretching Mr. Fantastic.
