    Default my first model

Hi, this is my first real model in Zbrush that I'm working on. I read through the practical manual and a bunch of tutorials on this site, but I'm still learning a lot as I go.

This guy is a Draegoni, a race that's human and part dragon that I developed a couple years ago as a playable race for my game. Here's a pic of a male/female draegoni head, it's very low polygon:

So that's basically what i'm making here in a high res realistic version.

    Any tips/critiques are appreciated!

Well I had nothing else to do today so I was working on the model all day, trying different things and experimenting. Didn't get too far however

I'm pretty happy with the model, but the texture needs a lot of work yet I think...not exactly sure what to do with the hair.
I also tried to put some different materials on him, one for the skin and another for the hair but they didn't mix very well, the edges were pretty ugly then I accidentally saved the material data in the texture and had to refix that to get rid of the nasty edges and parts that weren't complete filled with 1 material and should have been, and unfortunetly I lost a lot of my texture work x.x
Please give me any advice you can

Ok I retextured the face and tried out that picasso skin material, which looks really cool except it doesn't work too well on the skin+hair
How do I put 2 or more totally different materials on the model without getting nasty obvious edging? Is there a way to blend them?

I really don't want to be an annoying newbie here, but would someone be kind enough to help me out and respond to my question? Or point me in the right direction to where I could find the answer..I did check around on these forums but I can't look through everything.

I think this will be my last wip thread quite pointless anymore.
But I thought I'd post a last image here anyway, just to finish it up.

I'm not finished with this, but I am satisfied with how it's coming along..still need more work on the skin around the eyes, add eyelashes, looks like the brows are too far up. And I'd like to add more detail in the actual mesh for the scales on his face, also to try to model the hair a bit better in the future(I added the strands in photoshop).

    hey roja...

try playing around with the adjusment settings in the render pallette, particularly the contrast and brightness... might get you a better result...

    coming along nicely!
