Default Silo Base Mesh, ZB Details WIP

    Hi everyone,

I've been trying to work on creating a base mesh head that I can reuse. This is still a wip so any advice on where to improve would be great. I should also say that I'm at 4 subdivision levels with my model in ZB.

    Thanks!

    Roger

looks good. i think the ears may be off a touch (no earlobes and a bit too fatty up front). otherwise nice.

Thanks. I agree, the ears are pretty terrible. I think I'm going to have to scrape this ZB head and go back and work on my base mesh. I started to sculpt the ears and it isn't going well. I don't think I joined my base mesh ear properly to the head and it has some problems anatomy-wise now.

Still plugging away at it. I used Kris Kosta's skin material. Man, does it make my model look better than it actually is!

I think as long as you watch your angles you should be alright. Remember the ear angles out from the head, and tilts back slightly from the face.
If you make your temporal depression and zygomatic arch a bit more defined it may also help place the ears better.

I also think theres something off with the width of the face. I can't pinpoint it, maybe its just the large jaw thats throwing me off, hmmm- its looking good though, gotta love that silo orange :-)

    troy1617 - I got them from Kris Kostas thread here : http://www.pixolator.com/zbc/showthr...337#post260337

Just remember to render in Best with Shadows!

Defago - Thanks, man! I think you are right. I started out with my base mesh with the ears too far out and now I think I've pushed them too far IN now! And that jaw is so outta control. Thanks!

I think this is it for this head. I learned a lot and will add this experience to my next head. I think I'm going to go back and work on my edge loops for my base head.
