    Default Digestive system

The latest project at university, where I am using Zbrush to illustrate the digestive system, as part of an educational book. This is a test render of what I have done today, with more to do tomorrow, and so it might change a bit yet. There are some membranes to add,and also the mouth section. I haven't posted on here for a long time and so decided to share my progress with this as Zbrush is excellent for organic shapes. I used Zspheres throughout. test2.jpg

Been out at my brother's place star gazing tonight....and once again arrive home and discover one of my fav art buds has posted....and an outstanding work at that..... You have always been one of my long time inspirations...great to hear you are doing well with your art....a couple of years ago were rough if I remember right, and you were wanting to go full time illustrating? Well it sounds like you made it...CONGRATS!!!

I hope you will post more around here again

I love this pic...I clicked the thumbnail because of the art..and the fact you did it is an added plus for sure. Very realistic looking so far. You nailed the image quit well I think and I love the colors you chose for the intestines. Are you illustrating the whole book? I could see this as a visual aid in poster form for science classes in general too.....well I look forward to your next posting.

    Don't be such a stranger.

    yer bud,
    Ron

pretty cool....very much reminds me of some illustrations that were in a very old Time/Life reference book called the Human Body that was part of some series I had as a kid. I can remember some of the illustrations in there used to freak me out. Happy to say that yours does not!! Would love to see more.

Default updated organs, but not yet finished

Thanks Ron, I am still a student at the moment studying Illustration, and only now am I reaching the stage where I can create my own briefs and use my chosen methods of approach to create images. So now I am able to use Zbrush much more, finally, although I have used it on and off now for years, I am really wanting to use it as a tool for my hobbies and study work flow. I am glad to see you are still on here and producing Z-work, keep in touch my friend.
Andreseloy, I am greatful for your comments, especialy as you are a medicine Professor, and so I hope you will give me further opinions as i progress with this.

Here is the organs together again after I have visited each and made some updates and changes, based on further research and obtaining some really good reference images.

    Arran,
to be honest I preferred your first image_(which incidently I thought was superb!) My main crit is that you've made the ileum (small bowel) in the second model too regular_ it doesn't zig-zag in a uniform way like that_ the way you had the loops disposed and pressing against each other in version 1 was spot on.
If you're going for anatomical accuracy your left liver lobe is a little too far across the midline.
However I have to say your modelling is superb! Much better than the attempt I made last year! You've inspired me to have another go!

Question Is that preview for a rotative animation...

    ...or just a 2D image ?

Having done quite a bit of work in past years for World Heart and recently for some orthodontic surgery instructors, I think you have done a great job. I mean, WOW!
