What do you see wrong with it? I think it's awesome! Thanks for sharing!

Hi, I was going to wait till next Tues. to post this as that is the one year anniversary of my first post but, I'm going to be busy Tues. and today seemed like a good day.
This was black and white, well actually the model is in color but I de-saturated it in PS. I decided it wasn't festive enough , considering it's to celebrate my one year anniversary here, so I re-colored it Basil Gogos like in PS. I may post the B+W one later. Hope you like it

And to think.....
yes, monsters love cake too!
It looks great!

As aways Rick, it looks GREAT!
I think it would make a great poster without the cake.
I'm a big fan of Basil Gogos and I'm happy to say I was able to meet him at the World Famous Monsters Con about 10 years ago!

Luv it luv it luv it!
I specifically like seeing eyes beneath those heavy lids. The refraction of light brings the entire character to life. The hand is gorgeous. The lighting and color choices amazing. Well done! Happy Anniversary Monster Maker!

Hey MonsterMaker can I have a piece? Great job. Did you do that light bloom in photoshop? I didn't think it was possible in zbrush.
Hmmmmm Monster likes tasty candle!!!

I'm not exactly sure but is that lens flare off-center?
Looks Amazing Rick! Beautiful color too, red and green .
Your cake look better than mine! Looking forward to seeing what you will do in your 2nd year .
Happy anniversary Honey. You are looking even better this year. Lots of love from Denmark.
Don't worry MonsterMaker, I was talking to Mr. Frank N. Stein.
Thanks for the Basil Gogos reference. Some excellent work there. Saw there is a new book out this February, very tempted to get that. The Famous Monster Movie Art of Basil Gogos

wow amazing!! i love your stuff, i have to ask you, are you THE rick baker?! that won an acadamy award for your work on American Werewolf??
Consider: If it's him, he probably doesn't want to be mauled by fans. If it's not, you're encouraging fraud.
Yes, it's him. Yes, hundreds of ZBrush users can personally verify this from having met the man at Siggraph. And yes, he spent most of the past year posting anonymously (and then not posting at all once discovered) because of this kind of attention.
He's very self-conscious about his digital creations, and (crazy as this sounds) doesn't feel most of them stand up to "THE rick baker" professional standards.
I know this is asking a lot, but please treat him as you would any other ZBrush user, and try to limit your comments to the work he submits here.
If we can't respect that line, this community will lose one of it's better artists. Again.
edit:
Oh! Hey! I didn't even notice the color version. I love the new additions, particularly the candle. The flame itself doesn't do justice, though -- feels very digital, and to my eye breaks an otherwise perfect illusion.
Yeah I have to second that. It's gotta be adrag for him to have to answer to questions like 'are you THE Rick Baker'. Obviously people are going to be curious but lets let me man show his digital work without a whole barrow load of questions.
I don't mean to offend anyone but I think its sort of obvious that he doesn't like that sort of thing. (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).
Either way this is good stuff, whether done by a famous name or a Johnny Nobody, the work stands clearly on its own merit. Just as all art should do.
