New DVD

Your models look like crap.

The backgrounds from hell.

It takes two or three hours to find the tools the guy listed in the manual.

The announcement when it comes,is usually on one of the forums,

sometimes a member rushes to tell you.

…( Glen, Meats, Alex,Aaron, etc, sorry first names but after all we are close) has a new dvd out.

Unlock the secrets, put your fears to rest, find out how the others do it.

You race to (Amazon, Gnomon, etc, very nice people at Gnomon)

Such is the extent of the excitement you spell your name wrong on the credit card information.

Two minutes after the order is placed, you race to the window to see if it is here yet.

After agonizing, weeks, days, hours, minutes, the package is there.

You own it,

The secret is in your grasp.

The keys to the kingdon are near.

Again excitement takes over, you put the disc in delicately; wrong side up.

It plays.

It couldn’t be.

That voice. ( Glen, Meats, Alex, Aaron, etc) has an accent.

They don’t sound that way on the forum, do they?

You watch as the mysteries unfold.

Where did that menu come from? How did he do that?

No matter how excited you are and how deep into it you are, at some point your eyes start to slowly close. Your body starts to squirm in the chair.

Somewhere around you, someone asks what it is you have been looking at. Considering the purchase price is sometimes next months rent, you do one of two things.
Dismiss it with a casual comment.
Or

Declare it the best thing since sliced bread.

Usually you are on the first 5 minutes of a 10 hour lesson.

The hours pass, you break it down into sections, take notes, shut down.

And then it comes.

You open up your copy of the program.

This time it will be different.

This time I am the master, the program is the slave.

You select the tool that you had not known until this very minute existed.

You put in on the canvas.

And, AND…

.Your models look like crap.

The backgrounds from hell.

It takes two or three hours to find the tools the guy listed in the manual.

A special thank you to …( Glen, Meats, Alex,Aaron, etc, sorry first names but after all we are close)

for what they have shown us.

You need to lay off the caffeine man…seriously.

You just wasted two minutes of my life and I want them back!

lol yeah there should be a law against it :stuck_out_tongue:

He makes a good point. Having all sorts of awesome talented people tell you what to do doesn’t beat practice, practice, practice.

The best way to learn a tool is to use it. Practice makes perfect. Clearly define your goals…and get to it!

AAAAAAAAAAAAhahahahahaahahahahaha
I love that short. LOL. That made my day.
Lemo

PS: Did I tell you that I am working on a DVD?

ummm Lemmo…we aren’t talking about thoooose kinds of dvds!

just kidding…a zb dvd?

Why aren’t we talking about thoooose kinds of dvds!

( What kind of dvd’s are they?)

Ps tp pnoland.
Practice this " See the ball, see the ball roll"
We will have you up to speed in notime.

Working title is ‘Killer Amazons in the ZBrush Jungle’

Your a good writter. Work on the ending though, I need closure.

…i think you have a point, bicc39 !..i think its better to have a dvd by a mediocre talent that give’s you a lot of information on the ins-and outs of all the tools, clever shortcuts and settings…then to watch a modelling God like Zach make a super-anatomical correct model in Zbrush before your eye’s , proving only that you can make a kick-ass model in Zbrush if only you would have his talent and knowledge of anatomy !
There are no shortcuts to making a great model, its talent and lots and lots of practice !

When originally written, done so with a lot
of tongue in cheek.
Have to mention since then I have had the pleasure
of seeing Meats New DVD and it is tremendous!
IMHO best of the ones out there ( sorry Mr Alvarez, you
were first).
Believe that this is a dvd that truly defines zbrush
as a program.

(does this provide closure?)
