    Default Addicted To ZBrush

This program is so addictive! Instead of sleeping, I've been spending the last several nights playing with the ZBrush Demo to see if I should finally get it, now that I've earned enough extra money to fit it into my budget.
The free models that you can download with it have been a great help in learning how to use the brushes and such. Thought I would post some of the early results from what I was able to do from the free models. Nothing stupendous, but I feel I'm starting to get the hang of it. Villian.jpg Super-Villian.jpg

Looks great! I completely empathize about the "addiction" thing. Just can't stop playing with Z.

Thanks. Of course, I'm just adding some detail to an already great base model. Decided to add a hero head to go with the villian's head.
Very campy, of course. Captain Z.jpg

    Cool look!

I am a fan of comic book stuff...

in GIMP you can do a bit of post processing to emulate the printing patterns you see in old comic books...

    i think it is :
    Filters> Distorts > Newsprint

    there is also
    Filters > artistic > cartoon

which will do a black outline around solid colors

I and a few others have made some "Cartoon"/ "Toon" / "ink" / and "cel shaders", just do a search, and you will have some fun stuff to play with

you made a very nice model, I like the rendering you did, and the presentation... i also like the colors you used
    For Hire.

    Thanks everyone for your comments.

Polaris30: Comics were my first love. Before becoming interested in 3D/movies, my goal was to be a comic book artist.
I appreciate your advice and compliments very much.

Frenchy Pilou: "I think you said "Little Devil", but I'm not totally sure of what pilou means. Thanks, I think.

Lemonado: Thanks much. And, yes, they got another one!

mutant: Thanks for the comments. If the hero looks like a villian to you, it may be because of the somewhat angry expression on the hero or the lighting which can often come off as sinister rather than dramatic as actually intended. From other angles, he looked less sinister and more heroic, I believe anyway.

    reality engine: Thanks.

Sebcesoir: Your amazing work has been one of my inspirations to wanting to use ZBrush in the first place. Having you say you liked some little piece of work I did -is really inspiring. Thanks!

Actually, know that I think about it, Sebcesoir, I might like the name Z-man better than Captain Z!

Like I said, I'm addicted; so I thought I would post one more attempt at my altering the free Z Brush models. This time, I also rendered it. It is inspired by some of the early Pixolator stuff I saw when I first heard of ZBrush.
